Remarks

The college management is not really great and they know that fact, so they tend to give all plannings for tech and cultural fests on the hands of the students. They college provides certificates for the volunteers which they say will be useful later. The academics are planned very bad. If everything goes by schedule then it's fine otherwise even if we have little discrepancies the management is really bad at handling it.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is fully flexible. For all the students there are certain subjects that they should do, these are called Programe core and we must make some 160 points by the end of the year. We just have to do around 60 points from our main stream, rest what we study is based on our interests.

Placement Experience

4

I am currently making attempts in the hiring process. VIT has good numbers in placements, but also there are lot of students. You will have very high competition for Super Dream Companies, but with regard to Dream it's not that competitive. Placements are mostly IT based.

College Events

We have two major fests in one academic year. GraVITas is a techno fest in which a huge amount of technical workshops, hackathons, discussions, conferences takes place in our university for 4 days. We also have a cultural fest in the month Feb where we have proshows by famous celebrities, cutural events and competitions. The University's all academics works will go on hold for those 4 days.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is bit expensive when compared to other colleges in India, but the campus life is really good and it has very good infrastructure and benefits. The hostels and food are good when compared to other colleges in India. They have everything that a students want inside the campus and a metropolitan environment is maintained.

Fees and Financial Aid

Very less people get scholorship in the university, either you must score among the top 1000 ranks to get a scholorship or you must be state toppers of the particular board you are studying under. Also there is fees waver based on cgpa every year. Students with low financial background get some aid from VIT after getting their details verified.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is really good. There are lots of clubs and chapters in Vellore campus in which you can join and find people with your similar interests. The management is bit strict for girls but it's manageble. The number of girls to boys ratio is very low. It must be near 1:5. You have wide range of extra-curricular activities available in the campus.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, The rooms are average. they are good when compared to other regular hostels. We have wide range of options with the rooms, like it depends upon how big your pockets are. There are rooms worth 1Lakh per year which have AC located in new hostel blocks with all facilities and also there are rooms which cost only 15K per year with Non-AC, old hostel block, bad mess near you. The hostel allocation for first year is based on first come first serve basis. From second year onwards it's based on our cgpa.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors here are really helpful. You actually learn more from seniors than what you learn from the faculties. The campus is totally ragging free and the college authorities are very strict about it.

Admission

so we have an entrance exam called VITEEE. We have to apply for it in March. Usually the entrance exam will be after 1 week of JEE Mains. We will have a really long schedule of entrance exam dates and we can choose among those, and write the exam whenever we are available. Once exam is done, they make percentile ranking based on our performance and generate ranks. They will invite you for counseling process. The detailed info of counseling process will be available in our University page. In the process i choose computer science since i had pretty good.

Faculty

2

The faculties are not so good in teaching, all the students do self learning. The faculties do have Phd's and good qualifications but they are not gooding in teaching. The faculties here are kind of out dated and they dont update themselves except a very few. If you are a person who learn by what faculties teaches you, VIT is not the place.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
