MDI Murshidabad is one of the best-emerging B-schools of India. It is a decent tier-2 B school and has a huge return on investment as compared with other colleges. To take admission one has to appear for the CAT entrance test with a valid score to be eligible for further admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview
The PGDM course follows the trimester curriculum which covers 6 terms, each having a duration of 3 months. The course remains the same for all the 1st year students along with a compulsory internship of 2-3 months. In 2nd year students gets an option to specialize in a maximum of two areas among Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, and Supply chain management. The learning pedagogy is backed up with case studies from Harvard, Bloomberg Certification, regular guest lectures, and webinars conducted by industry experts. On successful completion of program, students are awarded a degree of PGDM
Internships Opportunities
We get diverse opportunities for various top-notch companies. The current batch of 20-2022 got a 100% summer internship placement with many satisfactory stipend offers. The major recruiters were Moody's, Airtel, Jio Creative Labs, and many more.
Placement Experience
Because of the pandemic, the placement has yet not been wrapped up. However, many students got exciting packages but the final report for the current batch is yet to be published. Placement season 2018-20 witnessed recruiters majorly across sectors such as BFSI, Consulting, IT Services, and Logistics & Supply Chain with 100% placement in record time. the highest package offered was 21LPA, an average package of 10.5 LPA and a median of 11.1 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are much affordable. MDIM is best known for its return on investment. The fee for 1st year is 5,55,000 and 5,95,000 for the second year which includes all the amenity charges. The college has no scholarship criteria and financial assistance.
Campus Life
Being at the historic capital of West Bengal, MDIM is a perfect amalgamation of a tranquil atmosphere having a highly advanced tech setup for students. There are many clubs and committees in which students can get into it to contribute their recreational ideas and learn various managerial aspects of working in a team. Along with academics, annual events are organized so that students get an opportunity to showcase their interest in various extracurricular activities. Also, different festivals are celebrated throughout the year on campus.
Interview Experience
After clearing the desired CAT cut-off, the eligible candidates are invited to appear for group discussion and personal interviews. This year since the whole process went online due to a pandemic, no group discussion process was done. Students were directly interviewed by the learned professors of the college. The candidates are judged based on certain parameters like their knowledge of previously acquired education, industry experience, current affairs, awards, recognitions, and achievements, and lastly their communication skills and etiquettes.
