Remarks

HCET is a good option for students who are looking for a college that can provide them a good career and also a enjoyable college life.

Entrance Preview

KEAM,I scored above average in the entrance examination and i was confused in choosing the right college ,then with the help of some of my seniors I chose HCET as they gave an idea of how life is in HCET.It had enough enjoyment, education, strictness and i felt i would be able to have an awesome four years in college, and im sure I did!

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As this college came under the kerala university(now under KTU) the syllabus is somewhat outdated but due to the strict evaluation of the examinations and examination schedules everyone has to study well and then only will they pass the examinations.

Internships Opportunities

Currently our college does not provide any internships. Our college .Our college conducts industrial visits for students of all the branches. As part of the industrial visit I visited yamaha two wheeler manufacturing plant located in noida and national institute of oceanography in goa last year.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement cell of the college is very active and is putting their best efforts in providing the best career options for the students. As with any other private colleges in kerala in this college also the campus selection for mechanical engineer is somewhat bleak. Most of the companies that come for campus placement are IT based. They provide the most suitable placement options for Computer science ,electrical ,and electronics engineering branch students. The mechanical and civil branch students are mostly placed ad customer support executives in most of the IT companies. In the coming years this situation may change and better options for mechanical and civil students could be provided.

College Events

4

The best part of HCET is the way we celebrate, whether its arts days, college fest(tech and cultural),or may it be festivals like onam and christmas we just rock. The college puts least restrictions for celebrations and we students really loved that about HCET.(come have fun).

Fee Structure And Facilities

Actually when I joined the college the fee structure for the government quota students was fine and for the management quota students it was little expensive, but now as per government rules the fee for management quota students has come down and is same as that for government quota students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college has collaborations with some private institutes that provide technical courses of short duration after our degree course and provide fee reductions to meritorious students.

Campus Life

4

The college life in HCET is really enjoyable , everyone will have a good time. The gender ratio varies according to the branch, for example the number of girls is maximum in electronics and civil branch and minimum in mechanical branch. We have students from different parts of kerala ,and some from tamilnadu also.our college conducts sports day regularly every year and inter college robotics competitions are also organised by the college, and participation by the students is very much appreciable.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facilities are ok not there best and not the worst. The mess food is also average.College provides separate hostel for boys and girls and both are located at close range from the college. The hostels have gym facility also.Electricity and water supply is uninterrupted security staffs are employed for taking care of the hostels and in additional some faculties are also stationed in the hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

I would say that my seniors helped me a lot during my first year.I respected them and they respected me too.Ever after that we are like close friends, whenever we meet our seniors we interact with them.

Exam Structure

The exam structure for the college internal exams are somewhat manageable and don't mess with normal life, but the university examinations do sometimes take a toll of the students. The students with arrears are the most affected ones as the exam schedule for more than one semester exams get mixed and sometimes there may be a full week of exams of different semesters.

Faculty

3.5

All the faculties are M.Tech graduates and they try their best in imparting their knowledge to the students.Faculties are very supportive. Some of the senior faculties have had experience in teaching in government colleges also. Most of the staffs have graduated from well known colleges.Faculties encourage an interactive class with the students. They are happy to reply to our doubts.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are decent. getting placed in a big company is more about having the technical and soft skills to pass the interviews. the placement training helps us develop soft skills but the technical skills must be developed ourselves.

Companies like Oracle, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Bajaj, Caterpillar and PSU's like BEL,HPCL and BPCL come to the college usually the coding companies offer aroung 35-40 LPA CTC and the core PSU companies offer around 17-18 LPA. Highest Package is 51 LPA and an Average Package of 12 LPA. Nearly 85% students from Circuit and CS branch get placed and around 60% in core branches who sit for placements, My plans after getting the degree is to join MBA to learn how business world works and how the money flows
