Remarks
The Infrastructure is quite handsome, the campus life is good, the location is average, (out of the city and not posh at all), the management works just like the people in the government offices work.
Entrance Preview
CAT 2008, Scored 90 Percentile and chose the above institute because it is an Autonomous institute with awesome infrastructure and justified fee structure. They entertain the CAT scores + GD and PI for booking a seat.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is about average, with not so focused approach towards FMCG and other sectors. The curriculum mainly focuses the IT sector and its blending with Management. If they can redirect it towards FMCG or even services sector, the placement scenario will improve drastically.
Internships Opportunities
The institute used to provide the required guidance for the same, but internship otherwise from the institute itself wasn't availed then. I wish it was as it would have reduced the burden of the students + it would have ensured better industrial relationships of the institute.
Placement Experience
The job market, when I graduated was kind of recession hit, the average package for MBA pass outs was somewhere around 4. 8 LPA. The highest package was around 10 LPA and the key companies that visited the Campus were Wipro, HCL, TCS and DirectI etc. Other companies that visited for summer internship etc were Piaggio and MRF etc.
College Events
Thanks to the awesome infrastructure and the Government funding, the Institute has been quite capable of holding its head high when it comes to sports, cultural and other professional college level events. The Sports fest is attended by the students from other IIITs and BITS Pilani/Goa etc. and the Cultural Fest has a Star Night where some Bollywood celebrity comes and performs in front of the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The institute is Autonomous and funding is supported by the central government, hence the Fee structure is very much feasible. The Hostel, Mess and the Tuition Fee are all well under control. The SC/ST and OBC students also get a rebate in the tuition fee and they have to pay only the Hostel and Mess fee, which once again is very much affordable.
Fees and Financial Aid
The institute offers free education to the deprived classes of the society, which includes the SC (Scheduled Castes) /ST (Scheduled Tribes) and OBC(Other Backward Classes) categories mainly. There aren't many scholarships but if the student has got the caliber, then he can make the best use of the available resources.
Campus Life
As the campus includes students from all over the nation, hence, there is a diversity in culture, and the institute ensures that the dignity of each culture is maintained. The courses include the professional courses hence the gender ratio isn't that fair, but still Male to Female, 5:2 is not that objectionable either.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are in excellent conditions, weather supportive, independent rooms, clean toiletries and compound, large mess and indoor kinda badminton courts, Billiards and gymnasium facility are provided by the college authorities for the students. The hos
Alumni/Alumna
The institute used to make efforts to ensure that the alumni is kept in touch earlier, and they used to organize programs for them but right now it is not that visible. The senior students are otherwise helpful but a bit bossy and ragging up to the acceptable limit is there.
Exam Structure
The exams are conducted with in the institute as the institute is Autonomous. The students appear 2 - 3 times in a semester for a subject and the evaluation is based on the SGPA and CGPA system for each semester and the overall scoring. Anything above 6.
Faculty
The faculty is very qualified and well versed with the subjects they teach. They know how to carry a topic and how to finish in the desired fashion. The contribution of the infrastructure (thanks to the government funding can not be ignored here) also pla
