Remarks
IIT Kanpur. I guess the name is enough. Who doesn't want to be a part of this prestigious institute? So now coming to some of the reasons why I chose IIT Kanpur above other iit. 1) IIT Kanpur was among the 3 IITs(B,K,Kgp) to have a BS Economics course which I liked the most. 2) Living in Kanpur IITK was the most suitable for me. 3) On top of that, I always wanted to become an Entrepreneur and IIT Kanpur has a very active Startup Incubator SIIC, which is like a cherry on top.
Course Curriculum Overview
After getting a decent rank in JEE Adv, I was in a dilemma, whether to follow my passion which was related to finance, economics or to follow the mob mentality which is to pursue Engineering. so after a lot of thoughts and discussion with seniors, I finally decided to take the road less traveled by.
Internships Opportunities
1) IITK offers endless domestic and overseas internship opportunities to all its students. 2) You can start applying for these internships from your 2nd year onwards, though many students who have the required skills and by using the Tag Name of IITK apply for the internships through off-campus mode in the 1st year itself.
Placement Experience
1) Placement won't be a problem in IIT Kanpur if you managed to maintain a decent CPI. 2) The average package of the campus is around 16lpa which is amongst the best in the country. 3) Every year 3-4 students are placed with CTC of >1Cr.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee of IIT Kanpur is a bit too much. The whole 4 years fee is going to cost you around 13L( 2,80,000 in the first year and 14% increment every year) But there are many scholarship opportunities available on the financial background and scholastic achievement which you can avail, you can read more about it on www.iitk.ac.in .
Campus Life
1)The campus life of IIT Kanpur is probably the best you can expect. The campus offers a lot of freedom to its students which is the best part of it. 2) Equipment for almost all sports are available in IIT Kanpur. So if you are a Sporty person then IITK is the right place for you. 3) you are allowed to roam anywhere(inside/outside) the campus at any time of the day. There is no entry/exit time on the campus. 4) IITK is built over a land of more than 1000 Acres which makes it one of the largest campuses in the country. 5) There are endless technical and cultural festivals that are always happening on the campus. Techkriti, antaragni,Udgosh are few of them.
Hostel Facilities
I1)ITK has a total of 13 hostels as of now. 2)Each hostel has its own mess, canteen, night canteen, Computer room, Tv room, Sports room, gym and courts for various sports like basketball, badminton 3)Some boy's hostel also have their own cricket ground which is really a luxury to have.
