Remarks
Second best NIT Had knowledge of the place around Had my seniors around studying in the same college I had to apply for the spot round of admissions which was delayed and the round was on short notice in 2012 due to some reasons, so preferred the college which was near to my place first. I thankfully got a seat.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was one of the available options for me in the spot round. I had a basic knowledge of mechanical and metallurgical works from the place I stayed. The curriculum is good and inclined towards iron and steel making.
Internships Opportunities
There are on-campus internship opportunities but you are allowed to apply off-campus as well. You can apply for any role you prefer and the selection procedure will be according to the company policy which comes for recruitment.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible from the 7th semester for placements. There are different categories depending on the package offered and everyone is eligible. 100% placement is achieved almost every year. There are companies for specific streams as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure did have many revisions once I had moved out of the college. I did not have any scholarships or financial assistance. The fee structure for us was roughly 100000 per year. People do get internships to post 3rd year
Campus Life
There are a number of fests including technical and cultural. Nitrutsav is one such fest and draws participation from many colleges around. The college has world-class sports facilities as well. The technical exposure through different clubs is interesting.
Hostel Facilities
It's a sharing hostel room for the initial two years and then we do get individual rooms for the final 2 years. Meal quality is really good if you are a nonvegetarian. There are many food places nearby on the campus as well. Registration is through the semester registration itself.
