Remarks :
Cochin college was quite good because of its well-experienced faculties in the department of botany .you can get clear theoretical knowledge from your professors but the laboratory facilities are too old there are not many things to explore in the laboratory and campus also. You must use the library facilities of the college. This is an mg university-affiliated college. Admission is through a centralized allotment process conducted by the mg university If you have a very good score in your plus two exams then you must choose a college with a high naac accreditation grade or appear in integrated pg entrance exams of the various central university that will definitely enlight your career. If you score only 70-80 percentage in your plus two exams then this college is good for this range of marks and if you want to experience real campus life then study hard in your graduation and take admission in any of the prestigious institutes in India for your pg program. The faculty of this college is very good.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose bsc Botany because I am very bad at mathematics and good at biology and chemistry so I believed that if I choose a subject that iam good at I can move forward and excel in my career. The faculty members of cochin college are well-experienced professors and they will guide you to success by sharing their knowledge within and beyond the syllabus. The faculties of the botany department are highly qualified most of the professors hold a PhD in their respective fields of research from various universities. The teaching method depends on the teacher. There are 5 permanent professors and a guest lecture for the entire department student-teacher ratio is around 30:1.In the department every semester there is two internal exams and a university exam if you work enough then you can score more than 80 percent very easily
Internships Opportunities :
In the final year degree program there is an internship it is compulsory but finding companies is your responsibility and I don't get a stipend from my internship, unfortunately, I paid 1000 rupees to the company for giving me the opportunity. In the final semester, you must do a project. I completed my project work with all the help of my respective professor
Placement Experience :
Campus placement is 0% if you want a job then go for psc or UPSC exams or any other way. I am planning to do pg in a central university after that getting PhD from any of the prestigious institutions in India
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees are very cheap actually there are no particular fees exam fees is the only fee you have to pay and that is around 7000 in the entire 3-year program SC St and some other categories get fees concession. Campus placement rate is 0%you don't expect such things if you want campus placement then join a college with a high rate of placements
Campus Life :
Campus life is not too good infrastructures are very bad but the campus is on fire when the election comes and then it becomes only fumes within one week. Cultural fest arts fests are also conducted in the month of December or January. Extracurricular activities are very poor. NSS and other social clubs are there on the campus but they are like icebergs of Antarctica not active. The library is very good almost all of the books you need for your bachelor's program is there in the library
