Remarks

A very good college with very supportive and helpful teaching and non teaching staff. The lab is well maintained and well equipped. The Library of this college is also very good provides a Great atmosphere for studying but the College campus is quite small. College is active with seminar, workshops, fest, and there are many associations so college provides many extracurricular activities which will help to develop an overall profile of a student. The admission process for an undergraduate degree is purely based on the Mark scored in HSC. It is a linguistic minority institute so 51%of seats are reserved for linguistic minority students. Fees for non aided Bsc degree like SC, IT and BT is around one lakh for three years.

In the biotechnology department, there are around 40 students per batch in Bsc and around 20 students in masters and there are 10 teachings and 6 non-teaching staff. Professors are very friendly, supportive. There are in total 6 semester and final year project in Bsc. Difficult exam of the exam is easy to moderate.

Placement Experience

There is no campus interview/selection for biotechnology. But IT, CS students get selected and placed through campus interview. From semester 6 students become eligible for campus interview. Many companies have visited.

Fees and Financial Aid

Many scholarships are provided for students. 3 yrs fees for an unaided Bsc degree is around 1 lakhs. For aided Bsc degrees fees is less than around 8000 per year. Scholarship- government open merits scholarship.

Campus Life

Vision is the annual fest conducted in the month of Dec. Biotechnology department has its own fest named Operon which is also conducted in the month of Dec. It's an inter-college fest. 200-300 students participate in this fest every year. All the references books, newspaper and magazine are available in the library which can be issued using a library card. The classroom is very spacious.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Strong academic legacy with expereinced faculties and balanced content- preparing you for future studies and entrance exams and olympiads. very much strict, i would say not needed. somehwere you may experience baised behaviour; but when you are focused on gaining knowledge then these things dont matter as its only a matter of three years. Relevance of course is there but for applying for further studies not for that much for job prospects, if you want atleast a decent salary job.

I chose IT as it has a vocational subject which can gain you more marks. But the facilities are very bad. All facilities wete trainies non wete permanent. Placement Experience:

The Placement Cell is responsible for the placement process. It is not very streamlined. Getting a job is considered tough, usually, the student has to search for it themselves. The average package offered is about 4 Lakhs which is okayish. Usually, students go for masters in Europe which is one of the best options. About 40 people apply for placements out of 180 students and out of that about 20-30 get placed.

Other from SIES, I applied for the same course in Ruia college and Somaiya college. I got confirmed admission form from Somaiya college but i didn't opt for it as the fees are too high compared to SIES college. I didn't get admission in ruia college because their cutoff was high.
