VIT- A complete package

VIT is one the best technical institute in India in terms of academics, extracurricular activities, and of course the placement cell. The students are coming from a cultured background and the environment is very friendly. The faculty also guide us really well. I have got a good review of the college from the collegeDunia website and I really appreciate the efforts they have put up to get us the best reviews possible.

The faculty is good and friendly except for some. Moreover, the curriculum gives all the industrial-in-demand knowledge and helps students get prepared for the future and have a clear understanding of their tasks also. The college gives more importance to extra-curricular activities also.

From 6th semester we get regular mails for applying for internships and placements and there are many companies that visit for placements, The list of all the companies is provided in the official website of VIT . Avg package is usually 6 LPA. Most of them get placed but then the CTC is very less. I have a plan of sitting for placements .

The fee structure is quite expensive for a middle-class family. The fees vary on the basis of the category admission is taken. There is no way to get a waiver in the fees from the college side. The only option parents are left with is to get an academic loan from the bank . The placements don't guarantee an amount that could repay the loan taken.

VIT has 2 main events - Riviera and Gravitas which happen in October and February respectively. The classroom is pretty spacious. However not according to the weather of Vellore. There are a lot of clubs and chapter in VIT which conducts a lot of various activities like online events and workshops.

The rooms are very small and have very little space for cupboards. Many have to keep their stuff in the luggage which becomes very irritating. The food is okayish and usually south-Indian. Many times served cold which is a problem. The hostel room can be registered while counseling and hostel are pretty expensive in accordance to the condition. However, the condition isn't that bad for boys' hostels.

We had to write VITEEE and the minimum 12 percentage has to be 75%. Viteee pattern keeps changing so it is advisable to look at its official website. When I had the exam it was 60 questions in physics chemistry and maths along with few questions in English and aptitude. The preparation should be the same as that of JEE as the syllabus is the same. Only the speed should be more for this exam. The difficulty is less than that of JEE exam.
