Remarks

There are too many good remarks about the college. The Marian College is the youngest Autonomous college in Kerala, India. The college is reaccredited with A grade by NACC. Also awarded potential for Excellence by NACC. A college with a great infrastructure. Almost 70 percentage of the students were campus placed. There are many more plus points. The management is good. They will address all the problems of anyone faces any. College offers canteen facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Now it's an autonomous College so it follows the latest technology based curriculum. It is the youngest autonomous college in Kerala. So now it can decide the curriculum and other activities by its own. So the curriculum is updated with latest technology. Also there are many assessment happening to improve the studies. The curriculum is groomed to provide industry specific knowledge to the knowledge seekers. And Marian provides great opportunities for campus placements.

Placement Experience

4.5

About the placement. Almost all the IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizent, Accenture, Delloite, USTGlobal etc.are hiring from Marian. Every year almost 75 percentage of students are getting placed through campus placement drives.

College Events

4.5

Arts Day : Every year to improve the talents and to showcase the talents of Marianites arts is been organised by the College union. Sports Day: To showcase and uplift the sports skills in students various sports events are being conducted. Marian Trophy : One of the prestigious event of Marian College. It is in 3 categories and is an intercollegiate competition. Football, basketball and shuttle. The college with highest point will get the ever-rolling trophy. Tug of War : During onam season. For us peoples, keralites, it is one of the greatest festival we celebrates. So in accordance with onam many cultural and sports events will be conducted by the College. Intercollegiate Fest: Every year intercollegiate fest will be organized by each and every department in the college. This hepls in improving the skills of the students. Also many other cultural, sports events for marianites were also conducted.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If it is a merit seat for the completion of BCA it's just Rs.10000. If it is management seat then the fee structure may vary. Also as Marian is an aided college, the fee are feasible. Not much expensive. The fee can be affordable for everyone. If someone from a low income family, there are many scholarship programmes organized by the College.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. I have opted for scholarship from the College. We have to submit an application in front of the scholarship judging panel. Afetr recieving the application they Will analyse the financial status of the student and the academic performance of the student. And also based on some other criteria, if the student is eligible to get the scholarship they will offer the scholarship.

Campus Life

5

The college is a mixed college with almost 50 percentage gender equality in students, faculties and also in office staffs. The college is managed by the Christian Diocese of Kanjirappally. The college will be organizing various webinars, seminars by experts from each field once in every month. The college have a dedicated placement cell to coordinate the campus placement activities and trainings. There are different clubs like NCC, NSS, women's clus, Music club etc. College also conducts various cultural activities. The college is situated in one of the most people visited tourist spot in kerala. So the infrastructure of the College is awesome. Throughout the year it will be like a winter for the students. It's a nice place to attend the classes, we won't be feeling tired or boring. There are many indoor and outdoor activities organized by various departments and college itself to uplift the skills of the students. This college is a ragging free campus. And if any violation to the rules will be punished as per the college rules also if it is a serious offence will be reported to Peermade police. There is no politics in the campus. Overall one of the best college in India.

Hostel Facilities

4

No. I have not opted for College hostel. Because the College was in a short distance for me. But better to be in hostel. Because kuttikkanam in kerala is one of the most people visited tourist spot in kerala. So there are many tourist attractions in and around our College. So during weekends it is very nice to be roaming there in kuttikkanam. Also the place is a hilly region, so will be cooler almost every day of the year. And there are 2 hostels for men and 3 hostels for women. Which offers nice facilities to the students. Hostels are managed by priests, so they are maintained with well decipline.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an alumini association for alumini students. Everyone who have been passed out from Marian will be part of that. And every year, during December vacation a program named Marian Diaries will be organised by the College for all it's aluminies. Everyone can be get in touch with their old classmates and all with this opportunity. It will be a 1 day program and the college will arrange accommodation for everyone who comes for the meet in the hostels.

Admission

In merit. When I joined the college was managed by MG University. So I got admission through centralised allotment process. Now the college is autonomous, so for admissions students need to apply through college website and based on the criterias college will publish the merit list. So that the students can get the admission. Also community and management quota are also available. For these the students need to apply in perosnnal to the college office.

Faculty

5

Under the department of Computer Applications there are 10 faculties. Among them 5 holds a doctoral degree. And 4 are about to present their the paper for doctorate. All the faculty members are post graduated and have great knowledge in the papers thet are dealing with.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.
