Remarks

Tiss offers quality education and is one of the top premier institutions in area of social sciences and social Work. Graduates from Tiss are even placed in WHO and UN councils. Decent placements are also there in welfare sectors under the state government.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course and curriculum is designed in a thoughtful and flexible manner. There are topics which can be added on the suggestions of students ; something which is not very common in conventional Indian education pattern. The faculty members are well trained and immensely knowledgeable apart from being friendly and approachable.

Placement Experience

Graduates from Tiss may apply for PG in various TISS campuses which offer decent placements ranging from 18 to 30 lakhs per annum. Tiss Mumbai is the best option for PG from Tiss! Students may also do their post graduation from other premier universities by clearing their respective examinations.

College Events

The social life is a bliss, when in TISS! The regular clubs, meetings organised provide a lot of exposure to the students. There are fests being conducted not only in the campus but also at Mumbai! Life in the campus is quite interesting and amazing.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There are opportunities of student exchange programs in various foreign institutes at UK, France, Australia etc. Scholarships and financial assistance are also provided to students belonging to economically weaker sections. The college does not offer much of placements at the end of 3 year ug programme because majority of students prefer higher studies.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel rooms are well equipped with WiFi facilities and with all the essentials. The meal quality provided at mess is also worth appreciatiating. I'm very happy with the overall quality and infrastructure.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

There was a written test TISS bat though which candidates were selected. The exam is of 45 minutes duration and was of moderate difficulty level. All the questions asked are of mcq type.

The Overall experience of an average student

Placement Experience:

7th semester or 4th year makes you eligible for internships and placements. NVIDIA visits our college often i don't know much about the placements as im only in first year but yes the eligibility for the placement is over CGPA which eliminates a lot of students during the placements nearly ~75% of the students get placed (including off and in campus) the other 20% pursue higher studies the other 5% go for start ups

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum of the college is as same as any other colleges. College does follow traditional approach but college does conduct various programs like AICTE idea lab course in curriculum. Teaching method in college needs to evolve and college needs to encourage the coding and development culture. And as for exam, for every subject exam iseasy to moderate level but for selective subject (depends on faculty) exam level is difficult.

I was more of a defence aspirant and got into OTA but was later medically unfit so I choosed TISS as my back-up option. I had confirmed admissions from IMU Mumbai , Vizag and All the Nits of north east and Nit Srinagar. Also i had offers from Nirma University and SRM and Symbiosis University.But TISS was most reputed of them all so i preferred coming here , also the academic load isn't very high here was a reason for me to join here so i can polish my other skills without compromising study. Now the admission process for TISS is different , we gave TISS bat exam and merit list was prepared based on that , cut-off was around 35 marks out of 50 for general category students. The best college for Social Sciences study

The admission process has three steps. The first one was applying for the TISS_NET exam. The forms are available on the TISS official website. The application fee was around 500 (I do not remember exactly) and the form came in January. We had to apply for the exam and choose the exam center. The syllabus was a mix of English, reasoning, and current affairs. The total mark was 100 for 100 questions. Depending on the course we are hoping to be selected for the cut-off varies. I applied for three courses. Two in the Mumbai campus and one in the Tuljaour campus. After the result, I was selected for Tuljapur, the DPPP course. The second round was a DAF, i.e. Detailed application form where we were given three essay types of questions. After this, there was a Personal Interview (PI) round. Reimagine the future with TISS

For admission you have to apply for TISSNET then after clearing this you have to give TISSPAT which is descriptive and then after clearing these two exams you will qualify for the GD and PI then after clearing these you will be selected. If you are preparing for HR, ODCL or LR courses they have to score in the TISSNET. And for others, if you have got 50-60 marks in TISSNET you will be qualified.
