Anonymous's Review On Cochin University College Of Engineering Kuttanad - [CUCEK], Alappuzha

I chose this college because it is mainly a subcampus of Cochin University of Science And Technology and the engineering department here is very famous. It has good placement records and those who score good marks in their course of study throught the 4 years, he /she can easily get placed in a good company. The average placement package her is around 5 lakhs. The highest is around 25 lakhs something. The faculties here are really excellent and they are very friendly. To get admission here you have to write the all india entrance exam called CUSAT CAT which has exam centers all over India and also abroad. The fees here is very affordable. For students in Kerala the annual fees is around 50k but for students from other states the annual fees is around 1 lakh. But since there are scholarships you will get money back after sometimes. The college campus (second campus in Kuttanad) is not very grand as you can see in private colleges. Tge compound wall is under construction and there are no big buildings and gardens. But you will find alk the essential needs here. The library is very much excellent with thousands of books and there are hostel facilities too. Ragging is prohibited here and after a couple of months joining here, you will be best friends with almost all the seniors. Overall if you chose this College you will not become disappointed at all. You will make really good memories and if you word smart you will end up getting a good job through placements. I chose Btech in Information Technology because I am really interested in the field of IT and always wanted to learn how to create app, websites etc. The placements for IT in CUSAT is awesome. Almost every student in their seventh semester gets placed in MNCs. The faculty here is really great with friendly professors having masters degree. Almost all of them are well experienced and many have Phd in their fields.They are always ready to help you regarding your subjects. The teacher to student ratio is 1:20 and the university is trying to make it to 1:8. They teach the students with patience and always clears our doubts at any time. They never feel exhausted while teaching. During the course of study, ther are 2 internal exams and 1 external exam for each semester. The curriculum of IT is relatively simple and it is not that much difficult to pass the exam. First year wilk be little tough but if you work smart and hard you can easily pass it. Rest of the years are easy that you can pass it with just 1 or 2 weeks of preparation.

The students are eligible to sit for placements in their seventh semesters. Almost all the students get placed in major MNCs. Some of the companies that offer placements are Cisco, IBM, Oracle, TCS, Wipro, Musigma, Cognizant, EY etc. The average package is around 6 lakhs and the highest in around 25 lakhs and above. In 2019 one of our senior got placed in Cisco with a package of 38 lakhs. If you maintain a good CGPA of around 8 and have no backlogs then you can easily get placed in a good company. The college authorities wilk provide you placement trainings to perform well in the placements After getting the degree I would like to work in a good MNC and gain lot of experience.

Life here in this campus is really great. The environment is very peaceful and there is no kind of pollution. There is a beach near the college, so you can spend your weekends there. Hospitals, railway station and bus depos are very near. You will find serene beauty everywhere. There are many lakes, beautiful paddy fields, churches etc. There are many tech and non tech clubs here such as Hack Club, Programmer Me, Coding Club, TinkerHub, Designer me, photography club, Sports Club, Arts Club, Quiz Club, Fitness Club etc. Our library is well established with at least 15,000 books that includes textbooks, journals etc. The classrooms are spacious and well ventilated with projector etc. There is canteen with variety of food and drinks. The college also has indoor badminton court, Football court, basketball court, Volleyball court, Throwball court, Cricket nets etc. So if you are sportsperson there are lots of opportunities for you to exhibit your talent. There is anti ragging cell here so ragging is not much active here and within a couple of months yoh will become friends with the seniors and they will always help you in any matter. If you want yo acquire a new tech skill then the various tech clubs of our college is always ready to help you. Overall you will really enjoy your time here and will create great memories.

There is only one college hostel here and that is for girls. But there are many other private hostels with affordable rents with good quality rooms and mess. The mess is good with quality food and water. Both kerala and north indian cuisines are provides. Admission to the college hostel is based on your rank in CUSAT CAT entrance exam. There is no registration process to get admission in other hostels, you just simple go and tell you need a room and they provide you one if you pay the fees. All hostels are near to the college and there are restaurants and juice bars nearby every hostels. There are shops near where you can buy all your necessary items. The nearest town in changanacherry where you have to reach by boarding a bus. There you will get anything. The bus services from college to changanacherry or alappuzha is good. You will get a bus in every 15 minutes.
