Remarks

College management: Amazing set of people, can set the world to a new standard, great in management at our time, they had given us with each tool or resource to succeed, i can't express the depth of my gratitude. Khanna Sir, he's the registrar in college, a great man to look forward to, he's in his 80's and still has the charisma of a colonel from army, and can discipline the whole world. God bless you with great health Sir. I am successful in life today and have achieved a lot, given the management of my college, Thanks.

Entrance Preview

I entered the college via AIEEE in 2007 had scored 56 on the exam, Ranked 7000 something on state rank, One of my school seniors was there in the college and suggested it is a great one other options i had were Doon Valley from Karnal, turned out this was a better choice then that i also had KIET kuk, N.C. College of Engineering - IT branch etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum was good in all, as it followed KUK university trend the full blown experience in IT subjects gave me the idea of how to work with all kind of computer languages the minor and major project helped open my belief system to new heights as to what all i can achieve on outside college various seminars by several authorities like Surya Narayan Bahadur Sir were amazingly motivating there are no electives, the course is set by Kurukshetra university and you have to abide by it. Couple of my favourite subjects were Internet, Mobile Computing, Network Security, Advanced Cryptography etc the institutes boasts a wide variety of research papers in the library but at the time i had no interest in them, although have authored papers on Advanced testing techniques and Cryptography now that i'm in the industry.

Internships Opportunities

Nothing of this sorts happened/was available. But in terms of Foriegn Arrangements please find the details below: there are two country exchange internship programs namely USA and Germany Wherein couple of students from our college go there and from there couple of them come here not sure about the current arrangement but at our time it was there.

Placement Experience

4.5

At my time of placement i.e. 2010, we had every major company on the campus like: Accenture, Sasken, Syntel, IBM etc I got placed in Accenture, Syntel, IBM on campus and off campus in couple of other companies(not bragging, just a reassurance of the quality of education given and the value being delivered there. Accenture offered 3 lacs package(2.75 as fixed and .25 as variable) with transportation facilities, one time relocation expense, travel expense, 15 days stay at a 3 star residency for joining and settling down period, Syntel offered 2.8 lacs package with an assured promise of moving to US in an year or so IBM KPO offered 2.5 lacs with job location as Bangalore, International KPO Profile.

College Events

4.5

There were like these events in college every year: PIET Quest - This is for the students joining the college, the students who apply to the college quest get listed by there merit of marks and then are given a rapid fire round of question, for which they compete and the winner gets: 1 lakh cash prize, An Activa Scooter, An iPod, as the prizes. I joined college before this tradition started. Carbuncle: In this a famous celebrity is called up in college and the hit music numbers, gazals, songs, rap, dance are performed by them. For instance so far we have had: Honey Singh, J-Star, Kumar Vishwas, Jazz Dhammi, Badshah, Neha Kakkar, Jassi Gill, Babbal Rai etc. I have taken part in hosting committee of the same in 2010, was a great show. Management Seminars: In this a War Vetran or a famous management guru comes to college to give us their wisdom and experiences and to motivate students for doing great work. PDP Classes: Personality development classes, this was an continous affair that has lasted so far, this is organized every year before Training and Placement time, so as to enhance and boost student morale, boost communcation confidence etc. by famous coach Dr. Surya Narayan Bahadur, he's a great guy who has achieved a lot in life.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was pretty feasible compared to other colleges: In my college time it was like: Tuition fee: 32000 something, Convenience Charges: 11000 something, Library Fee: 800, Hostel Charges(AC/non-AC): 77000/67000 for 3 people sharing and 87000/75000 for 2 people sharing food and mess charges were extra so combined all it was like 67000 per year not much expenses other than that.

Fees and Financial Aid

School Merit: If you have score more than 85% in your HSC and +2, you get a certain amount of scholarship, AIEEE Scholarship: If above a certain rank category, you get 100%, 50% off on tuition fee etc. I got this scholarship PIET Quest winner get certain off in tuition fee no loan facility offered by college.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus Life is good in all like any other college, i would rate it a 8 out of 10 Gender Ratio is like 70% guys and 30% girls Student Parties are fairly regular, based on level, Cafeteria parties, hostel parties, festivals, bunks, movie parties, mass bunks, jump the wall and run parties. Pretty amazing i would say and all year round. Workshop are in a lot, now that we have a amphie theatre and two seminar halls and a Video Conferencing room. Pretty neat stuff and its like quite tech advanced. There's a cyber lab in the college, if you feel like that you have a free lecture, go over to the internet and browse for whatever knowledge you wanna gain. It was restricted network so no worries. Students from each part of the country were in our campus like from kashmir, nepal, delhi, haryana, punjab, UP, MP etc and it was very diverse and students were very cool and open about it, no racial discrimination, political status was cool, economic status was not an issue, i hail from a poor family but i can attest to it, no worries at all.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel Facilities: Good in terms of Infrastructure sharing can be difficult sometimes, as people had a habit of staying up late and doing endless chatter. Rentals are not that costly mess Food Is good but crappy some days there can be more washrooms as people fight over washroom availability.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni Meets are fair and regular and they have a word with the current college students, share their ideas etc. Senior Students: There's rather a communication gap among the years in college, everyone wants to stay in their own bubble, the seniors should come forward and make a connection with all the rest of the years as they really need it. The junior years have always been seen infatuated with pre-determined success, which doesn't end well with them.

Exam Structure

There were three sessional exams, out of which you can give your best in two of them. Although the third one was a big one, you had to study the entire course for it. So we were vigilant the day was hectic and had to study quite a bit everyday. Practical labs were chilled out, not much effort there.

Faculty

4.5

At the start i doubted their skill a bit, but with time my faith in faculty grew like anything their skill as well as their regards towards the success of students was a marvel if anything i would rate my college experience a 9 out of 10 because of the great teachers i've got. Discreet Mathematics had the best faculty in the entire area of like 200 kms, he had knowledge to the depth that we had to put every ounce of focus in class while he imparted lectures. An elderly guy, don't remember his name. Network Security - we had the most kind, humble professor in the world, she had a thing for Network security, was very keen on how we took and understood the concepts and on practical implementations of the same, wanted each and every student to be the part of the class.

Still it is new college you know that there is no certain records of placement. I am from 2nd batch of this college. But I would say it will provide enough good packages. In 2nd year you have to sit for internship as per the curriculum of this college. so out of 107 seniors, 85 students grabbed intership from the 2nd year. We hope we also be able to grab internship in 3rd year.

Almost 90 percent of the companies start taking placement colleges from the 7th semester onwards or till the end of the 8th semester in which all the students are placed. And if any student still remains, he applies for off-campus placement, then he also gets placed easily.
