Remarks
Please reduce the management quota and take more people based on merit. College can also put up some funds for extensive research. Overall it's a good college.
Entrance Preview
I gave AIEEE exam and scored 52000 All India Rank which passed the criteria for the college. The college has a great infrastructure and prime location for placements.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is not that hard as compared to some of the Ivy colleges of India. The knowledge is well distributed between practicals and theory. The emphasis on theory should be based on understanding but most of the students end up cramming the books. The research is not a strong suite of the college, although there are some faculties under whom you can make up quite extensible projects. The curriculum is mostly followed as the MDU university, which surely could take upgrading.
Internships Opportunities
No, college don't provide internships. I would recommend my college to start putting up funds in research and start providing internship. During the time of my studies there was no means of working as a graduate assistant or teaching assistant.
Placement Experience
Placements are decent considering it's a 3rd Tier college. You will get the MNC's like Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, IGate, Infosys. A part from the IT sector you will also get industries working in core field like Maruti, Huawei, Ericsson etc. The packages range from anything between 3 L p.a to 6 L p.a. Placements are not that easy and during my time only 60% of the students got placed. The companies scrutinise a lot as it is a 3rd Tier college. I am hoping this is changed now.
College Events
College had many events celebrated through out the year. We had freshers party and Senior send-off party. I am hoping the tradition is being followed now too. We also used to have bi-annual sports meet and annual fair. These were the grounds for students to showcase their cultures and skills. The Annual fair usually always had a rock band competition and some big celebrity hosting it.
Fee Structure And Facilities
To be honest about the fee structure, during my time of studies if was on the higher side of feasible but now what I have heard that it's in the expensive zone. The amount of facilities provided and throughly being used is very less compared to what they are charging. I am hoping, they could revise their fee structure in future.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, there is no scholarship or loan facility available apart from the fees concession to SC/ST. You will get some monetary benefits in topping the university but let's just be real, it's not easy to top the university. I am hoping in future they regard more merit based scholarships to help students.
Campus Life
Campus life is really enjoyable at the college. You will get a good gender ratio and good looking people as college is located near Delhi and they have a pretty high management quota. The Dorms and parties are really good and enjoyable. Many outing places nearby the college. The college has a mix race coming to campus as people from different parts of India apply here but still the diversity is limited to only northern India. It's a decent college with it's creativity and obtuse nature.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are only provided to 1st year students in campus and later students are shifted outside the campus. The food and mess is good enough and not that pricey but the amount you pay for hostel is much more than what you will pay living in a independent rented apartment. There are lot of PG's nearby in Sector-21 and Greenfield, which you can use but they have pretty strict restrictions due to past experiences. The average rental for a 2BHK independent flat is around 10K.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are really helpful to good looking girls. It's a two way street. On the serious note, The alumni is college is scattered around and is very vast. The alumni do support some functions and activities at college. It's good to network with them and take help from them when needed.
Exam Structure
Exam structure was same as all the colleges, following a 2 semester a year schedule. We also had 3 internal tests per subject per semester, and only best 2 scores were considered for the final score. Plenty of holidays were provided to study for the exam and prepare well. Only if your luck is not with you and your last semester back paper might fall the next day to the current semester exam, then only you will have a mountain to climb else it's up to you.
Faculty
The faculty of college during the early years was very good and we found professors with good dissertations and publications but with the growth of university there was lack of lecturers which resulted in haste hiring of newly graduates as faculty. I won't say there was a lack of interest in any faculty but surely there was lack of experience. Apart from that, lecturers were really candid and approachable.
