Remarks
On an overall scale management is good but could have been far better.
Entrance Preview
I took the WBJEE test and my AIR was 5976 I was determined to take CS branch so I opted for this and few other colleges and in the counselling order I made a mistake as I wasn't aware that colleges are given according to the priority in which you fill them so I got this college. The admission process is simple firstly you have to attend the online counselling then visit any of the mentioned colleges to book the seat you are allotted and further then after three rounds of counselling you have to visit the allotted college and do the formalities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is very nice, all the things that a B.Tech student should know is there in the course curriculum there is a separate Research and Development center in our college to which we are granted access when needed. The students can work on on-going projects or research in different areas if they have prior knowledge. Research papers can be published international Conferences are held.
Internships Opportunities
Yes our college provides internships students have done internships in IIT Guwahati and their overall experience was quite nice. I don't know the exact stipend they were offered.
Placement Experience
Placements were somehow good. Majority of the students got placed. The companies visiting the campus were generally service based companies like TCS, Wipro and Infosys. And their CTC was varying between 3. 2 to 3. 5 LPA. Its not a big sum, but neither a bad one. However there were lot's of OFF campus opportunities that came in our way. And our fellow students were cracking every opportunity that came in their way. Companies like HCL, Capgemini, Syntel, Polyware, Itc, Nestle, BOC, IBM also visit the campus.
College Events
A lot of events are celebrated in our college there are both online and on stage fests. The prominent ones are The cultural meet, Prayukti- the tech fest, Rivera- the cultural fest, Rang Milanti, Extravaganza and many more fests are held in some only college students can participate and in some anyone can participate.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible 1st semester fees is about 80,000 and for rest of the semesters it varies from 50,000 to 55,000 for a B.Tech student. This fees includes the lodging fees for food you have to pay separately depending on you choice of expense.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't know whether there is or there is not any loan or scholarships specifically offered by the college.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is 8:1 (boys:girls) there are a lot of workshops held from day to day if we see the geographical diversity among the students then most of them are from West Bengal and Bihar there is such tolerance thing related to gender, race or religion though you can't be certain about each and every individual there are debates and other activities like extempore that are held now and then.
Hostel Facilities
I would rate the hostel facilities and mess food 6 out of 10 the size of hostel rooms are good and in one room four students have to stay. There is no other option to share room with less number of students though from 3rd year on wards 3 students stay in one room there are lot of PG's nearby the campus and the average rental is 2000 for one room.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are certainly helpful but then obviously not all there are some with prime motive to create nuisance.
Exam Structure
There are mid sems(1st and 2nd Internal) and then there is the final semester exams there is a grand viva for the Lab papers. The schedule is very tight classes go on from 10 in the morning to 5 in the evening and leaves us hectic by the end of the day.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is very nice and all the faculties are educated enough to help us excel. The top top faculties have post graduation degrees as well as their doctoral degrees and the rest assistant or associate professors have graduation or some relevant degrees.
