Remarks

I applied at various colleges within my state and even outside the state. I got selected for admission at around 6-7 colleges within the sate of Assam but I didn't took admission in any one of them as the Guwahati University syllabus is outdated and I wanted to study outside Assam. So I applied at st. Anthony's college Shillong Meghalaya. This is a well known college as it is the first college under Bon Bosco in India and it is the first college in north East to be graded A by NAAC, The application fees were around 300-400. After submitting my application for admission I waited for approximately 2 months. And I was informed via text and email that I got a seat in the college and had to pay the 1st instalment of 1st year which was rs 17000. I was also given a choice to select which shift I will be taking admission in I selected morning shift(7:30-11:30). We have in total 3 shifts morning, day, and evening shift.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

So st. Anthony's College Shillong's best course to take is zoology as the college is best college to study zoology in the northeast. I took B.com honors in finance and accounting which is the second-best course provided by the college. B com has the largest number of students enrolled in my shift only there are more than 100 students. The best thing about st. Anthony's college is that it not only focuses on academics but also all-around development by organizing and conducting various activities which help the students to learn, grow and have fun. The faculty: student ratio is perfect we have sufficient, well-experienced, and professional faculties in the college most of them hold PhDs. And as for exams, all the exams are conducted timely, even in online mode during this pandemic. I will soon have my 2nd-semester exams from the 20tg of July. It will be in online mode the questions will be distributed via Google classroom and we have to send the answer scripts via post for outstation students.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

I don't have the actual data right now as I'm still in my first year and attending college virtually. But for the first year also the college provided learning and internship opportunities like my captain where students will be offered a course and after completion of the course, the students will provide internships like content creator or writer, campus ambassador, social media marketing, sales, videography, event management and many more. The stipend also starts from 1000 to 10000. The college provides additional certified learning opportunities via Coursera and a lot of other e-learning platforms.

Placement Experience

4.5

From 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement. Companies like cisco, Infosys, google, state bank of india, Indian airlines, wipro, hcl, reliance, tech Mahindra etc. Comes to our college to recruit freshers. I currently don't have actual data right now as I am still in 1st year attending college virtually. To get more information about the placement I refer you to visit college website anthony.ac.in Various companies visits the college to offer jobs. The packages will varie with your skills, knowledge and your marks

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no problem with the fee structure as the fees are reasonably less than any other private college as it's a catholic College. And as for scholarship i personaly applied for ishaan uday scholarship scheme and the college accepts all kinds of both government and private scholarship schemes.

Campus Life

5

As I didn't experience campus life till now due to the pandemic. But according to our seniors, they had a blast till last year. There are a lot of clubs be it sports, culture, the debate we have a lot of clubs. This college has adopted the western style of campus and social life there is academic development with personal development. We celebrate rose day, Halloween, and we even celebrate all the north-eastern states' national festivals be it Bihu, hornbill one way or the other we celebrate all the occasions. Because we respect each other and respect each other's cultural background.

Hostel Facilities

5

The boy's hostel Stephen hall is basically home far away from home. Well maintained, we believe in brotherhood. The current hostel incharge is Fr Ritonbor Kharkongor. He is newly appointed as a warden in Stephen hall from June. Per year hostel fees for 1st year(can be paid in installments) are Single room: 20000/y Double room: 17000/y Triple room: 13000/y Mess fees: 1800/pm The hostel fees are reduced each passing year by some amount. The mess of Stephen hall provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and evening snacks with red tea. Every night in the dinner there will be a nonveg item be it fish, egg, chicken, pork, and once or twice a year beef which is optional as the majority of students are Christians. The hostel boys have to abided by various rules and regulations. But at the same time have a lot of fun with friends seniors and juniors. Competition like hostel week, wardens trophy, Social activity are also conducted every year. Being a Stephens

Placement Experience:

the students from 4th Semester above are eligible for the campus placements. the college placement cell provides each and every opportunity to the students and to influence the students to not only be good in the academics but to also have extra curricular activities. the college placement cells always conducts online or offline meetings with the students, to hell them faced the real world and to not be covered in a bubble shell. they brings people from outside to conduct the meeting and select students who are capable. Many companies has offered placement for the students from our college, companies from the country as well as outside the country. the highest package is 30000 and average package is 5000 as offered by the company. the percentage of students getting placements is 95% out of 100%. the remaining 5% may have their own reasons to not go for the placement or they are not selected for the placement. My plans after getting my degree is to continue with my UPSC, i don't have any other plan apart from UPSC.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since the college name itself suggests that it has Commerce in it so the Commerce department teachers and course were very relevant and facilities like issuing books from library is there for students who can't afford to buy books and apart from books we also have journals and newspapers for our reference. Besides, there are computers in the library for us when we need to do any presentation or any other work. It is helpful for students. Though the name has Commerce in it, the college also offers course for Arts stream, i.e. BA.
