Remarks

DTU being one of the finest institutes for engineering provides the greatest exposure one could ask for. Apart from academics, students get ample time to explore new stuff resulting in the development of all-around personality. Moreover, there is a society/club for every activity more than what anyone could even think of. Now, coming to academics DTU provides its students the flexibility to choose their own subjects from the very first year. So a student in a core branch-like electrical, mechanical or chemical can also take coding subjects as well according to his/her preference. The placement stats of DTU have been phenomenal in the past as evidenced by the fact that it has surpassed IIT Madras in the no. of placement offers secured in the session 2019-2020. Thus, DTU was the one and the only college I aim to lead for after my 12th class.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I'm pursuing B.Tech in Polymer Science and Chemical Technology(PSCT) and the real reason behind this branch was simply because I didn't get any other. But, being said that the Applied Chemistry Department under which PSCT comes in is one of the most celebrated departments of the university. The faculty: student ratio is 14:1 which is quite good. All the faculty of the Department has done PhD in their respective fields either from abroad or from IIT'S. The faculty is extremely helpful and is always ready to help students in whatever way possible be in terms of giving great academics scores or writing a nice lor. There are two exams every semester, the mid sem exams which are back to back and are finished within a week and the other is the end semester exam which has one day gap between every exam. Both, of these exams, are fairly average in difficulty but with the lenient checking of the Department, one could easily score very good marks.

The fee hike is at a constant 15% from the last year of fees, therefore, the current cost of a 4 year B.tech is 6.5 lakhs. There are a lot of scholarships available as mentioned: - Scholarship for EWS students - Sports scholarship - Scholarship of merit And various other scholarships as part of the donations received from the alumni.

Students after completing third year are eligible for placement. Placements start before starting of fourth year, and it requires students to have no backlogs in any subjects. However companies can imply their own rules to filter the students such as minimum CGPA criteria. But placements of our college is one of the best placement for a non-IIT college, despite having so many student intake.

My seniors got placed in the 7th semester and a few in the 6th as well. As per them, the placements are the best compared to all other IPU Colleges. Offers from abroad are too given here. For Computer Related Branch, placements are to 90%. Highest Package has surpassed 1 Cr, and Avg. package is about 8 LPA.

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent, average package goes from 5lpa to 10lpa. Highest it has went 84lpa in Amazon so far and can for sure grow in future. 7th semester students become eligible for placement drives and companies like amazon, microsoft, newgen, tcs, ibm, etc are major recruiters here. Around 80% students do get placed but you can definitely be among them by refining your skills and maintaining a good cgpa. I plan to go for off campus placements as well as I'm interested in AI related roles but hoping for even better.

Placement Experience:

The placements are fantastic , many companies like google amazon and FAANG companies come here . Although i cant compare it with top IIT s but still a 25 lakh per annum package in CSE is still remarkable. The placement cell is often influenced by Placement coordinator but then DTU takes action against them and debar them from placements . If one does not get placement in DTU. , the DTU tag will obviously be more than useful in after course placements

Highest package for the last year was more than 1 crore. Avg package is somewhere between 7-9 lpa. 50-60 % students get placemnt from the college including off campus placements. I plan to either start my masters or join a good job if possible as whatever situation arises at the end of my course at this college.
