Remarks

CIT was ranked the best college in rural area category and Infrastructure is far better than many colleges. Well, bad aspect is it's situated 24kms far from Tumkur making up-down trip long. The admission process was quite smooth as I was a Selected under SNQ Category, well I had to visit college 2-3 times to verify my documents. So make sure you have all the documents while visiting the college for the admission process. I wanted to do my engineering from home so all I had was 3 options (SIT, SSIT & CIT). I couldn't get in SIT and SSIT was deemed so CIT was my only option. College was referred by my sister who completed her BTech this year.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I am passionate about Computers so my only option was to choose CSE. Faculties are good, not great but still as you are doing Engineering Self-Study is something one must focus on. A Class is of 65 MAX students. Teachers have well educated in fact some teachers have PhD in their respective fields. A sem was around 3-4 months without including sem exams. My simple strategy was to try to get maximum marks in internals and refer previous year question papers and model papers and I am pretty sure you can easily score around 7 CGPA without hard work.

Placement Experience

3

From 7 Semester students are eligible for Placements. Popular Companies visiting my college are Infosys, Wipro, Mphasis, TCS and others. Highest Package was around 8LPA and the average package is around 3LPA. Around 60% of the students are placed. Some companies offer other branches to take part in hiring Process. Get into a company get some experience, if interested in MS get one or if interested in MBA get one from a very good college like really top one. While you are in a college practise Data Structures and Algorithms and do Competitive Programming which will land you a great job (product based company).

Fees and Financial Aid

For normal students, KCET seat fees go around 83k to 90k. PS:: I was an SNQ student so I had to pay 20k per annum(tuition fee). The fee hike is probably around 3% I guess. For Scholarships, you can refer Accounts Section. VidyaSiri is a popular scholarship provided by the State Govt. There are no on-campus jobs, well atleast not yet.

Campus Life

3.5

We have a FLAIR (annual fest) which was cancelled this year(2020) due to Covid -19. We have coding competitions in these fests. CIT has an excellent Library and Digital Library too. We have Sports Day and other cultural fests on other occasions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college (NHCE) is affiliated to VTU but it's autonomous college. I like mechanical engineering and my father is also a mechanical engineer which inspired me to mechanical engineering. It is a bit outdated, expect more applications of the concepts. As I said we have exams every month, the frequency is good and the difficulty of exams I mid to easy range.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There course subjects included in each semester is pretty much related to the branch of the student, each course subject has an important role in making the student ready for jobs. Some of the core subjects are necessary for real world applications and in the interviews as well during palcements ,questions have been asked from various subjects. Sometimes the speed of covering the syllabus is fast which makes us mug up the topics which is not beneficial for us because this method doesn't hold any value when it comes to applying it in real life.
