Remarks
I have always been inclined towards core branches of engineering, and mechanical was always my favourite. My as there is so much competition in mechanical engineering, a friend of mine suggested me this college and Tool, Engineering Degree. It is a special branch of Mechanical engineering, and there is relatively less competition. It is the only Government Engineering college in North India that provides Tool Engineering as a B.tech degree course, and this opens a wide variety of opportunities for students to get a job or start their own workshops after learning. Getting admission in the college is easy compared to other central Delhi colleges and it's affiliated to GGSIPU a well known University. The transport facility is easily available to the college and is near to the main spots of the city. Infrastructure is not very appealing though, and social activities are also less.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very well written, as it consists of all the important subjects. But some of it is outdated and should be updated soon, but then this problem exists in almost every college. Permanent faculty staff is limited and the college has to arrange for lecturers every year for different subjects.
Placement Experience
Campus placement was the biggest attraction of the college. The college used to have a 100 percent placement record. Many good companies like Maruti, JBM, Motherson Sumi, Subros used to visit for the campus placement. But since last 2 years, the placement has declined and the big companies aren't visiting much. Also, the annual average package is less than 4 lakh. Only Maruti provides a package of 6-7 lakh, and some doesn't even give 3 lakh for a year.
Fees and Financial Aid
When I joined college, the fees was merely 57000 per year. But now the fees have increased to around 70 thousands for a year. It is still affordable if we take other colleges into consideration and cost to study is really low here. Financial help and scholarships are provided to students who are in need.
Campus Life
The social life of the college was almost dead when I joined, there weren't cultural societies, nor any good sports facilities. Fests were also not celebrated before, but now, the scenario has changed for the better, and you freshers party, and our technical fest, Ennogy is being celebrated single last 2 years. There is just a playground where we can play cricket and a volleyball court.
Interview Experience
The admission process was simple. You just have to appear for an entrance exam. And the cutoff for the college is also low. But as the college is in Delhi, and that too, it's a government college, it is good. After clearing the cutoff, you have to go to college with all your documents to get them verified by the college authorities, and then you have to pay the fees. The admission process is very easy and hassle-free.
