Remarks

DG Vaishnav College provides a very good education in graduation level for each and every course for many decades and the college has a good infrastructure for Un-Aided shift and poor infrastructure for the aided shift. Laboratories are not up to the level for the aided shift. The environment & atmosphere around the campus is really nice with a lotus pond and lots of trees and plants. Also, lots of Transportation facilities are available for the locality (Arumbakkam) where the college is present. You can travel from any part of the city/out of the city via buses, trains, metro etc. The admissions will be based on both merit and recommendations from authorities, VIPs, staff members, workers, govt employees etc. It will be around the time of April, May, June months of every depends on the establishment of board results. If I talk about extracurricular activities like culturals, sports, expressing the student's talents, the college playing a vital role in it by giving many opportunities to prove them.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

When I'm preparing for my board exam, I got so much fascinated by chemistry and I thought of making it as my career, so in the same way, I took B.Sc Chemistry degree at DG Vaishnav College, Coming to my college, the faculties teaching methods are not so innovative or interesting anyway but at the same time, they're not skipping anything like my school faculties they're doing their duty in a correct manner so that we people can prepare for our Semester examinations. The qualification of the faculties varies from PG to PhD Six months once semester exams will be conducted and the pattern of the exams be like 60 marks from semester exam and 40 from Internal tests, attendance, behaviour in class and generic skills.

Placement Experience

2.5

The chances of getting placements after completing merely an undergraduate degree are generally less in India, So we can't expect 100% possibilities from any college unless you're scoring above 80% marks. The placement opportunities are not stable but it depends on the course that you're taking in DGVC. Many companies will be visiting the college at the time of End semesters of final year for placing the students. My plans will be doing PG abroad or in a Good University in India.

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost of studying per annum will be around 7.5k for aided shift students and the semester exam fee will be around 1.6k and for unaided shift students, it will be around 45k and the sem fees= 3k like that. For aided shift students there'll be scholarships from govt based on the caste policies, income etc. By submitting your income certificate and community certificate you can collect your scholarships.

Campus Life

3

Some of the names of the cultural programmes happening every year in the campus are VFEST (Vaishnav Fest) (only for freshers), ARTISTICS (For all the year students), SANGAMAM (Grand cultural event of the college) and literary association functions, Rotaract club functions, consumer club functions, Competitions will be held. Also, respective departments will conduct their department culturals by calling another college of the same department (for eg. Chemistry dept students of other colleges). There is also the presence of consumer club, Rotaract club, Entrepreneurship clubs, NSS club, NCC club, sports clubs etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.
