Course Curriculum Overview

4

The quality of a sociology course curriculum depends on several factors, including the institution offering it, the specific courses included, the depth of content, and how well it integrates contemporary issues with classical theory. Here’s a general framework for evaluating the relevance and comprehensiveness of a sociology course curriculum. Current Issues and Trends: Does the curriculum address contemporary social issues such as globalization, digital sociology, inequality, social justice, race and ethnicity, gender studies, and environmental sociology Interdisciplinary Integration: Does it incorporate perspectives from other disciplines like psychology, economics, political science, and anthropology, which are increasingly relevant in understanding complex social phenomena Practical Application: Are there opportunities for students to apply sociological theories and methods in real-world settings through internships, community service, or research projects

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internships will be like turning up students to visits the companies and do some projects there to get some experience before getting really into the jobs and they get salary of 5000 to 7000 monthly in order of their work bias. The students do reasearch activities under tutor of the company, companies too offer stipends offers if the student perform with better indulgence of the activities

Placement Experience

3.5

From 3rd year of the college each of them are eligible for availing the campus placements. Many companies like TATA Consultancy services, HCl, Wipro, Zoho have been visited. The average package will be like 300000 to 500000 for UG and 400000 to 800000 for PG in accordance with Skills and course types. The students having the CGPA of 8 and above and no back up arrears are the foremost choice for the recruiters and will get higher chance to be placed. My plans after completing the degree is to prepare for the government exams like TNPSC, UPSC, Bank exams, RRB, etc,...

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fee is 48000 Tuition fees = 1350 Special fees = 36650 Departmental activity fees = 5000 Certificate courses fees = 5000 The fees will be same for all the students under any circumstances if they comes under any special quotas.

Campus Life

4

Social Aspects: Campus life offers a vibrant social environment where students have ample opportunities to interact and build friendships. The diverse student body often includes people from different cultural backgrounds, which enriches social interactions. Activities such as campus events, parties, and casual gatherings at common areas like dorm lounges or cafes provide a lively atmosphere. Additionally, students frequently form study groups or participate in extracurricular activities, leading to lasting bonds and a strong sense of community. Club Involvement: Being involved in clubs and organizations is a key part of the campus experience. Most campuses boast a wide variety of student-run clubs ranging from academic societies to cultural organizations, sports teams, and hobby-based groups. Club fairs at the start of the academic year help students explore their options. Active participation in clubs often enhances leadership skills, provides networking opportunities.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are 30 + rooms are available in the hostel and it is only for boys and not for the girls in college campus. The quality of meal for breakfast, noon and dinner is awesome and good. It is Pure veg and no non veg is alloweded inside the premises. The hostel menu will be like dosa, idly, chapathi, masala dosa, noodles, fried rice and so on. The registration process is simpler in which students need to submit the DD (Demand Draft) as fee to the hostel. No cheque or UPI payments allowded.

Admission

I put admission in Loyola College, Chennai in which I got B.A.History, but I joined Dg Vaishnav College due to pre payment of the fees in the month of July itself. I got rejections from some Engineering colleges due to less cut off marks. The eligibility to enter my college is just by passing class 12 examination with any boards by taking up minimal qualifying marks. No admission tests are been conducted in our colleges.

Faculty

4

The faculty to student ratio would be like 20 : 1 and the approach of the faculties towards students will be very kind hearted manner in which treat students as their own sons. Namely in Sociology department Dr.I.Jenittamary and Syed Azeez Ahmed are the one whom considered one of the best of all time among students towards their friendly manner. There will 6 semesters in which each year there will be 2 semester exams which will be conducted for 100 marks. The course curriculum will be medium and quite easier to clear the exams if they study properly by following class notes and books. The arrears for this course is very minimal like out 76 means only 3 to 4 will get arrears where others will easily clear off.

Placement Experience:

Our college provides placement. At first they will conduct some training programme for those students who are all interested and paid fee for placements after that based on the performance of the students in the interviews they got selected. Companies like Accenture and many others come forward. The percentage of the students getting placed is depends on good performance. I planned to look forward for some jobs by cracking some exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well the course provides almost everything which is needed and available. This is not a normal economics course as it involves statistics, python, core math and also dives into data science. This allows the students to explore various subjects and can choose which is their best fileld. The curriculum overall is very rigorous and intense but you can crack it if you study regularly. About the frequencies of the examinations, we have 2 internal examinations and 1 end semester examination. I can guarantee that this course is super rigorous but im not sure if i would necessarily say that the course is "practical" and it helps us in the real word. I cannot comment on the practicality of the courses. The exams are not super difficult and its moderate. Getting more than 90% can be challenging although clearing the paper won't be an impossible task.
