Remarks

I am a student of session 2016-20 & a BTech. mechanical guy. If I say truly this college has many good & dark side. First I want to discuss the positive view for this college that in this college's faculty are good & helpful nature and study's standard level is moderate. In the workshop, there is enough machine for student's practice in the lab but so many machines are not working properly. I took admission via OJEE competitive exam. But you can also take admission by management quota (in donation mode) also. For me, I select this because knew that this college has nice ranking among engineering college in all over Odisha & our college got A+ from NAAC India. It is only one college from all over the state who got A+ from NAAC. The placement record is also medium type, I mean around 70-80% got selected as per the college's record. But most of the companies are third-party vendors. Infrastructure is also in good condition.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum as per our university i.e. BIJU PATNAIK UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, ROURKELA, ODISHA which is CBCS(choice-based credit system). You will be awarded minor specialization subject also it means dual benefits. Faculty is good & more knowledgeable you will be get benefited. They will help you whenever the need them for your studies. The ratio of faculty-student is approx 1:5. Most of the faculty are M.tech, PhD holders. Some of them are also a scholar. During your 4 years, of course, there are 8 semesters (8 examinations) except class test & session is also in the right time it means the session is fast, not slow. Questions level for semester exam is medium not so hard. If you're a laborer.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The students studying here also find internship's Company. Students arrange their internship itself in many top companies like SAIL, NALCO, TATA MOTORS, DVC, IBM, MICROSOFT, etc. If I discuss top roles offered by the companies to the students is graduate trainee, associate officer, field manager, field officer etc.

Placement Experience

3

Students of semester 8 can participate in the company's placement as per their desire. My suggestion is before to take part in placements you should proper knowledge from T & P department because there is some strange rule to take part in placement(about Hidden fees). In this college, there's come so many companies from which some of famous are infinite solutions, Wipro, Bajaj Motors, hero motoCorp, SEPCO3, shards motors and many more. The average salary is 15k-18k/month & the highest package is 40k-42k. Around 70-80% of students got selected for campus placement. But most of the companies are third-party vendors. I wish to work in an experienced Company or government organization.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is not so high(in session 2016-20) it means you can afford it. & If you have a problem related to your fees you can also take an education loan via any nationalized bank ( my suggestion is not to take a loan from the private loan, because in private bank rate of interest is high), it will help you for your studies. In this college, you deposit your fees in instalments or you can also your pay in a once. There's also a scholarship facility for students if student applying for a scholarship as per their state via Scholarship portal & also can apply in national scholarship.

Campus Life

3

Especially there is the type of fest which is celebrated one is sparkle(annual fest) & another GIET FEST. Which is so much enjoy the full moment for every GIETIANS. In GIET's library, lots of books, magazines & journals as-well-as e-book & e-journal are available. If a student is enthusiastic & more attentive toward study then it is better for you. There are some technical club as-well-as some social club. Periodically some extracurricular activities are organized here.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel fees are also affordable. If you are interested to expand & to enjoy hostel life then welcome here. But my suggestion if you staying in a hostel not to involve in the external matter because in this hostel there happen so many dramas (you can understand what I mean). Quality of meal is usually like the rest of the college. Initially, you will be like the food Of the canteen very much, but after the passage of time, you may get anorexia by eating here. In locality rent of the room are not so expensive you can easily bear it.

Placement Experience:

the placement is also not that much great. they are very few companies TCS and Infosys are the mass recuriter here . The core companies are close to null . So you have to go to only to the IT companies that to at a very low package . My students work for as low as 2.5 lac per annum . This year almost everybody was between 3lac to 10lac bracket . The highest on campus package are about 25 lac . Not more than that most of time. and the average package is almost about 3-4 lac per annum . The percentage of the students placed is also really bad . Most of the students have to hurdle by himself.

Most of people go for PHDs and research after this course so the number of placements is a little less. Also, this unique Integrated Mtech course is new and the first batch of this 5 year course soon will be passed out. They are getting placement offers of 8-8.5 LPA per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because at first I was interested to automobile engineering but I didn't got it from other college so I preffered this mechanical engineering. It is a very though course as it seems. And there was 1:7 for faculty and student ratio. Faculties were highly qualified and some did PhD and m. Tech and other are fresher. The teaching skill differ person to person. The thermodynamics faculty was very excellent. In every year there was 2 semester and it is a little difficult. And before semester there was internal and viva.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Padmanava College of engineering is coming under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT , odisha). As there is always a myth about private colleges that they help in cheating but from my experience padmanava College is strictly against cheating and rather it supports quality of education. If you are a hard working student you will pass the exam very easily.
