Remarks

I had heard so much about CSE at Chitkara University. Someone has told me that it is one of the best colleges in North India to pursue Computer Science Engineering. My experience with this college is not good. Though teachers are great placement team is not good. I am in my final year and got my internship through campus placement. But if you face any problem in your internship, the placement team will step back and they let you suffer.

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculty members are good. Teachers are really nice and will listen to you. Each class will be provided with a mentor and you can share anything with them. My mentor in 7th semester is so nice. He resolved many issues. So, the faculty members are good but placement team is not good.

Course Fees: INR 160000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many companies come to hire for different roles- Software developers, web developers, technical content writers, android developers and many more. But my internship experience is not good because I have faced a lot of problems during my internship period, my company was not giving me a stipend and when I told college about that, they just step back. Placement team is not good.

Placement Experience

Many MNCs come here every year to hire interns and placement is also provided. Placements are pretty good, the only drawback is if you face any problem during your internship, placement team will step back and not listen to you. It has happened to me.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have enrolled in 2017, back then the academic fee is INR 80,000 per semester and in a hostel, I used to live in a 4-seater room, so my hostel fee is INR 34,000. If you want to avail mess facilities, then you have to pay extra 140000/-.

Campus Life

Campus life is pretty good at my university. Girls are allowed to stay out till 9:00 pm and for boys, it's 10:00 pm. There are two main fests in a year -Rangrezz and Explore. There is an official celebration on Valentines Day also: P followed by a DJ Night.

Hostel Facilities

Rooms are pretty good. Every student has their own bed, study table and a chair. Mess facility is also provided and even the food provided in mess is also tasty. In my hostel, each room has its own balcony, which is a plus point.

Hostel Fee: INR 480000 per year

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. A life in my college.

Placement Experience:

Only skilled or quality are able to get placed. Usually onwards 6th or 7 th semester, students can be eligible depending on the performances. I can do a job if I like to work there. If not, I will do more internships to get hands on experience.

Placement Experience:

Placements are really great of our college as its avg pakage is of 11 lac from computer related branches. Girls are eligible in second year for inters and for boys its generally from 3rd year because of the reservations.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

A GLANCE TO MY COLLEGE

i chose this college over other colleges becuase of its reputation , in recent years Chitkara has made its name whether we talk about placements or any other various field, it has a brand value as a private college its a quite good college,this is slightly a new college that is why boards were the criteria to get admission and other colleges i applied to took admission o the basis of JEE mains and i had not scored that good in it that is why did'nt able to clear the cutoff for my required branch, i applied t o Thapar Institute Of Technology, Patiala , Chandigarh University,Punjab, Amity University, Punjab Chandigarh College of Architecture.. i got confirmation from everywhere but just in Thapar i did not get Computer Science, The elegibility criteria in Chitkara is min aggregrate of 60% in jee mains and 70% in boards then there are several cutoffs on which the branches are given to students...Read More

I choose this college because it have a good placement ratio and packages. Here placements cell heads are helpful and teaches us about how to grab good placement. No, i didn't get a rejection from other colleges but i choose this because transportation is easy in this as compared to other colleges.
