Remarks
It was a very renowned college in-state. The good aspects were having expert faculty and very strict rules. The college had a great placement record. The admission process was online and was in consecutive dates not taking much time. I will refer to this college who wants to do research and do masters in a good institution. I evaluated reviews on Quora before taking admission and they were positive.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I wanted to study mathematics up to masters level. The faculty was well knowledged and expertise in their domain. The student-teacher ratio was around 1:20. All of the faculty was done with PhD and research level. The faculty used various modern techniques of teaching such as using digital mediums. The term and unit exams were taken frequently and monthly and honestly difficulty level was quite hard.
Placement Experience
From last that is the sixth semester from where students start to get placements. The companies visited till date are TCS, DEShaw, Capgemini, Infosys and they made offerings of 10 from each. The highest package till date is of 20lakhs per annum and the average package is of 3_4lakhs per annum. Around 20-30% of students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to work in some of this company.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college had a grant from govt so if you are admitted through grant quota then fees were not very huge. There were various scholarships available based upon caste and merit. Gunwant, Acharya were names of such scholarships. The Earn and Learn scheme provided part-time jobs for needy students.
Campus Life
There was a cultural and departmental festival organised every year. They were conducted in December and had a title as Spandan, Electra, Sankhya etc. The library had a huge collection of books from very ancient time to the till date. And the library was well maintained and digitalized. The classroom had amenities such as washroom, drinking water, lunch place etc. There were frequent intercollege and intercity sports competitions. And cultural competition were also conducted. The FC friend circle, Ambedkerite Students organization, Sankhya are some organisation led by students.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms were provided with bathroom, fan, electricity connection, cupboard, chair, bed, etc. The meal quality was good and had a different menu throughout the week and had a feast on Sunday. The registration process was online and provided admission based on academic merit. The hostel is located in Shivajinagar, Pune.
