Roshan's Review On Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute Of Technology - [FCRIT], Navi Mumbai

Even though the college offers you a good platform for achieving success in your career and offering you good placements, FRCRIT is very extreme with its methods and is one of the most strict colleges in mumbai. Students even call it 'CENTRAL JAIL' of Vashi.

Uptil last year the jee mains score was the examination which was considered in admission process, but the admission for current academic year was on the basis of CET score. I scored 97 in CET. FRCRIT has high cuttoff luckily I got admission through Christian minority. I opted for FRCRIT as my brother is a pass out from here and rates this college very highly.

The course is circulated by the Mumbai University. The structure of the course is quite good and focuses and demands you to develop practical skills. The course covers a vast portion which is required for developing a keen engineering mind. The college themsef divides the entire course into units to help you to have a better grasp of the entire portion.

The college has tie-ups with major giants like L&T. From the third year you can take part in internships.

FRCRIT is one of the most reputed colleges in Mumbai. The colleges has a placement record. People believe that if you have secured a seat in FRCRIT you can believe that by the end of the course you can secure yourself a job offer. Many companies visit the campus as the college is reputed to produce some brilliant young minds. Companies like TCS, L&T ,SEIMENS ,MAHINDRA,etc and offers the students with high packages ranging from 3.5 lakhs to 50 lakhs.

Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Institute of Technology (Fr. CRIT), Vashi hosts an annual inter college festival in the even semester called 'n-Max CRITeria', which comprises a series of technical and non technical workshops, an intra-college cultural and sports festival called 'FACES' held in the odd semesters. The college also takes great pride in allowing its students, time for activities only after 4:30 PM, after which most establishments and colleges are closed. This turns students into a lot of burden carrying zombies who seem to have no fun at all. Strange-but-true : college has made it compulsory to attend the cultural fest.

The fees has to be payed up at the beginning of the academic year. the fees includes the Gymkhana fees, lab fees, and fees for various other facilities that the college provides you with. You have to pay the fees by submitting a DD of the specified amount.B.E( First Year) fees : 1,23,000.

I am not aware of any such scholarships , but I have heard that the college offers scholarships to students who have scored above a certain score. Also, the college offers some relief in fees too the students from backward community classes.

Franlky speaking the college does not have much to offer in extracurricular activities . The college does have one of the biggest football turfs and has many football maniacs. The college is dominated by Christians owing to its minority status. Male to Female students ratio is good. There is no discrimination in any sense among the student and the college promotes a healthy social life.

The college has hostel within its campus. There are two separate buildings for Female and male students. The hostilities have access to WiFi, television and other facilities . The hostel has washing machines so you do not have to wash your cloths. The hostel provides you with food.

The college has a great alumni. The seniors are very helpful as they know how hard life is at Agnels and are willing to help if you need any.

To be honest FRCRIT has a reputation for being too extreme with its methods. There are weekly tests and you have to make sure you clear those tests or you are stuck in the never ending chain of retests. On the brighter side this gives you edge over others and you are able to complete your portion on time and are well prepared for the semester.

The admission is based solely on CET score. The shortlist for admission is done by DTE. There are 4 cap rounds, which assigns you a college based on your CET score and your preferences. Once the cap round is over you can confirm your seat and pay the fees for the academic year.

The faculty offered by this college is very experienced and the ones who are very knowledgeable. Unlike other colleges this college offers you faculty who are fluent in English and are interested in the job they do .they take it on themselves to make you understand the topics. Although they are strict in their approach they are truly devoted to the work they do. Each of the faculty is highly qualified.
