Remarks

The management could be better in selecting their staffs who have core knowledge. I would rate the college as average because it can be better in many ways.

Entrance Preview

I had written Karnataka - CET. I got a rank of 13k. I chose this college as it was the best college I got a seat in for my rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course curriculum was not that great, not very research oriented except the project I took in final year. Very few lecturers are research oriented. And many of them teach just for the sake of job, as they have different works apart from teaching. So, choosing the correct kind of project along with the correct kind of project guide will help in research on what you were expecting out of engineering.

Internships Opportunities

I have done BE in this college and hence maybe I couldn't find any company that hire for internships there. But M.Tech/MBA guys may have got companies that come to college for internships.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements were bit less in my batch. Most were IT companies and a very few core companies came and most of them were in pool campus selection with other colleges included. TCS, L&T, Span infotech, Tech mahindra etc had come for placement. Average packages were around 3 Lakhs.

College Events

3.5

We had Pesco - Jnana cauvery as the college fest which used to happen 2/3 days continuously with various programs and various celebrities attending it. We had Wheeled evolution at the department level which included automobile events like dirt race and auto expo.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is nominal. This is a government aided private college. So, the fees are less. It was around 28k per year when I entered. They do not force you to pay additional fees in the middle of the semester except the exam fees, which all colleges have I hope.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offered scholarship facility for all the SC/ST/OBC students. They used to get almost 70-90% discounts on the actual fees. Loans from banks could also be made for education.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratio wasn't that great. As I was in a core field, our class had just 3 girls compared to 30 boys. The dorm parties were not famous. We had few associations which worked well in sometimes. We had a team for SAE BAJA and even I had participated but we couldn't reach the next level in that.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel was fun, with all the friends together. The mess food wasn't that great but acceptable. You feel bored of eating the same food sometimes as you miss the home food. Sharing rooms were there in hostel, but clean as we maintained it. A nominal fee of around 30k was to be paid per year of which around 10-12k was returned back.

Alumni/Alumna

We now have alumni association running in the website and social websites, which were not available earlier. We can contact alumni and even our juniors can contact us. Guess they are helpful in many ways.

Exam Structure

Exams and internals were good with good amount of choices for the students. There were 2/3 internals and an external/main exam. Used to have choice for attending 5 units out of 8 units. Lab exams were easy too as the attenders would be helping the students to pass them.

Admission

I got into this college by Karnataka-CET counselling. The process was easy. Just choose the college and branch you want while watching the live seats and pay the CET fees in the counselling center for the selected college. Later, go to college and finish the admission process.

Faculty

3.5

A few professors are really good in teaching, they have understood the topics they teach and have done lots of research. But many teach just for the sake of it, as they have other business out of college. Few senior professors dedicate their time for teaching and help individuals a lot.

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
