Chehak Agrawal's Review On Delhi Technological University - [DTU], New Delhi

DTU has a great campus with plenty of opportunities around you. There are numerous societies to get involved into. I liked the environment and atmosphere of DTU which drove me to choose this over NSUT, IIITD, NITD, IGDTUW as I had equal opportunity to take admission in them as well.

The course curriculum is quite old and outdated in DTU. It's more like of theoretical and no exposure to practical knowledge is provided even in practicals. Teachers are not very supportive and lack knowledge about the subjects and are not at all updated with latest advancements and technologies coming up. It's like a marks race everywhere without actual knowledge and skill improvement as far as academics is concerned.

Highest package offered last yr was 1.25 crore p.a. More than 300 companies visit every year which includes major companies like microsoft, Facebook, Netflix, Amazon, Morgan Stanley, Adobe, Flipkart, Uber, Ola and many more. Placement rate every year is around 90%. Alumni network is quite strong in DTU. Also recently Ecell has launched an app DTUConnect to get all the alumnis connected to current students and through that app they can help them in their entrepreneurship journey or in placements.

The main event which takes place here is it's cultural fest ENGIFEST. It's a massive event with a footfall of 50k every year. It's generally a 3 day event organised by cultural society of DTU. All nights are packed with energy, concert grounds are full of people and there are various other events starting from 10 AM each day till 11PM. Last year the stars were siddhu moosewala, papon, Anurag Bassi. Apart from this there are various small events also during festive times like during Diwali there is Diwali Mela (mainly for DTU Students), Garba night during Navratri, Freshers party for freshers, various comedy evenings in auditorium.

Campus infrastructure is amazing rather awesome. DTU is spread in 164 acres with all the facilities like sports complex (well maintained and suitable for almost every kind of sports), different labs for different year students (like there is different CO lab for 1st yr and different for 2nd yr). OAT is the best place to chill out with friends during winters and most of the fest events also take place at OAT. DTU has a grand auditorium of capacity around 1500 students. It's where we can enjoy dramas, plays, fashion shows, dance performances and various inter college competitions.
