Remarks

It is a well reputed college known for its computer Science course and has high placement rates, comparatively cheap in private engineering colleges in India, has a good secure campus, diverse crowd, has multitude of extracurricular activities

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is well rounded, thoroughly covers all aspects of computer science degree which gives the students an exposure to various fields within the branch. Also, the multitude of elective courses allows students to experiment and learn about different domains, and also take up more courses related to a particular course like ML,AI, NLP etc. if they have decided to specialise in them. By the end of the degree, the student is exposed to multiple programming languages and has the freedom to choose the one they are comfortable in. The content and mode of teaching is a bit outdated, can be updated but the syllabus covers all the foundational concepts properly

Placement Experience

4.5

Very good placements opportunities for CSE,IT branches(Microsoft, Deshaw, Nutanix,Tekion, Morgan Stanley,JP Morgan Chase, HPE, ZS Associates, Cisco,TCS, Capgemini, Appydynamics, Amazon, Standard Chartered etc) Alumni network isn't strong. Civil and biotech people don't get much placement opportunities. Mechanical has a low rate of placement. ECE,EEE get good placement opportunities, after CSE/IT.

College Events

4

The college offers over a hundred clubs to choose from in various domains- technical, management, dance, music, drama, debating, public speaking, sports etc. Students are encouraged to participate in as many club events as they can which take place regularly. The weekly events are usually classroom events so take place at a small scale. But every club has 1-2 landmark event in a year which takes place at a larger scale. There are 2 fests- one technical, one cultural fest where clubs organise multiple competitions and activities. The campus also has multiple NGOs to join from.

Campus Life

The campus is very clean, beautiful, and secure. Sports facilities are available for both men and women accomodations and in common campus too. Decent wifi, they keep trying to improve, huge library with a digital borrowing system, labs are well maintained and efficient. The campus has well maintained gardens, efficient cleaning services.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms for girls are small. (Need to be shared, not enough closet space in some blocks).Hostels are very clean, toilets are decent too. good water and electricity services. ACs work fine most of the times.Old hostels lack open space, also less space for drying clothes. Shops are present on hostel campus that provide s all general products,no need to go out. In time for hostels in 8:30 for girls. Laundry services are available (paid separately). Also, has a saloon which is slightly expensive.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
