Remarks

Management was flexible enough to respond to any new changes and keep abreast of the current trend.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course was structured in a way to give us both theoretical and practical knowledge. We also spent a lot of time in labs doing things that we learned in the classroom. The exams were structured in a way to test if we understood the concept and we're not just about mugging up things. During the course, we visited many pharma companies as industrial visits to actually understand how things work in practical lives. Being a graduation course we didn't have any campus placement.

Placement Experience

4

As I was in the graduate section of the college there was not any placement facility for us. However, the college had a separate placement cell for post-graduate students. Many renowned pharma companies recruited from our college. The college had a tie-up with many hospitals that offered many internships related to biotechnology and life sciences.

College Events

5

Cultural events organized by college like singing competition, dance competitions, drama competitions, college annual festival "Utsav", life science annual festival "Synapse" These events happened on a grand scale and students across the colleges participated in them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was fair and was in line with what was stipulated by the Mumbai University. There was no additional amount that I had to pay to secure my seat. I seats was allotted purely on the basis of the merit of the student. The fee for the course of Life science was Rs 5000-7000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't opt for any scholarship however scholarships were awarded to students based on their financial background in conjunction with their merit. Students securing more than 70% marks and who were unable to pay their fees were offered scholarships. Average scholarships ranged from somewhere between 25000-50000.

Campus Life

There was no gender discrimination and the gender ratio was more or less equal. Apart from studies college encouraged us to take up many extracurricular activities like sports, play, annual events, etc. Our college was not only known for its academic performance but also for its interest in drama, sports like cricket, carrom, table tennis, etc. The annual function of our college ' Utsav' is quite famous amongst students across Mumbai.

Hostel Facilities

No. I didn't opt for a hostel facility as I was a local student. However, based on the feedback I received from my friends who used the hostel facility, the accommodation was at par with the standard set by the university.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors and alumni were very helpful and exhibited friendly behavior. They helped us whenever approached.

Admission

Post the 12th exam based on the marks secured I had to apply to different colleges for the desired course under Mumbai university. once you submit your application forms to respective colleges they used to announce the merit list based on the marks secured by you. Once your name featured on the list you could apply and pay the fees for the course and enroll for it. I chose BSc Life sciences because I was a science student and had an inclination towards biology. Also, I chose this college over others because it was one of the renowned colleges across India for its academics as well as extracurricular activities.

Faculty

3.5

There were around 5 faculty members. though young they were well qualified and good knowledge about their subject. They taught us in a very interesting way and the lectures used to be interactive. Faculty members taught us not only the theory but also took us for many industrial visits and we did much practical stuff.
