Remarks

Overall a decent college. Location maybe weird for some since it is not of the poshest places of Delhi especially being East Delhi and too much Muslim population in the area too. Infrastructure is okay is with good blocks and average lab facilities.

Entrance Preview

IP- CET, I chose this college since this was the best option in terms of distance from home, location and accessibility, ranking and stream available for my rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is balanced and great with regular assignments, internal sessionals and end term semesters. Semesters exams are prepared and checked by IP University so it adds to a plus point. Also the degree will mention only branch and course and not the name of the college but only the university and an IP degree is considered as one of the best Indian degrees to have.

Internships Opportunities

You would have to engage yourself through college clubs like e-cell otherwise look outside campus for any internship opportunity since the college itself does not organised any such event or invite any company for internships. Though I have heard training is available for third year students

Placement Experience

3

Placement is average with average package of 3.5-4 Lakhs per annum and major recruiters are Infosys and TCS and Wipro too maybe. There is almost 100% placement for CS, IT, some ECE students too. However compared to other IP colleges like BPIT, MSIT, MAIT, it is not upto mark.

College Events

3

Festivals are limited but there are occasional parties and club events of e-cell, confluence photography society etc. The official freshers party this year was pretty impressive considering it was organised by the college with Mr and Ms Freshers competition, good DJ, average DJ etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is pretty feasible for most. Even though being a private college but being affiliated to IP University it is pretty okay compared to VIT, Manipal etc especially for Delhi students. It is about Rs 1,15,000 per annum and no hostel is available so no other charges espl for Delhi students.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loans or scholarships are available for any student from the college but a student loan facility is available from Delhi government currently.

Campus Life

3

Being an engineering college, Gender ratios are really messed up. You can find more girls in CS and IT branch is about 10 in a class of about 55 and even lesser in branches like EEE or CIVIL or ME. Economic status of students varies from filthy rich to from humble backgrounds but there is no discrimination and also no discrimination on religion basis too.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No hostel facility. Most of them are day scholars from in and around Delhi is nearby areas since college has good connectivity by Metro. Others prefer to find easy and good and cheap PG facilities which maybe at a walking distance from the college and average rent of Rs 3000 per student on sharing basis per month and rest needs to be inquired and verified from a PG student.

Alumni/Alumna

There is a alumni society of NIEC and it is considered very active. Seniors of the college are best and provide proper guidance and can be the best tutors even better than the faculty since they have been through the same and have filthy experience regarding the same. Overall amazing, they do not even irritate or do ragging.

Exam Structure

Exams are pretty easy in engineering courses to be very frank. Like you can pass by studying a night before if you paid attention in class and have good notes and resources. Sessionals can be hectic since there can be even 7 papers in 6 days but semesters are relatively easier to score in and well planned.

Faculty

4

Faculty is decent I must say. But this totally depends which one is allotted to your class since it varies from excellent to below average faculty. Chemistry, Physics and Maths teachers are all Doctoral degree holders but MP, FOC, additional subject teachers are just okay okay.

We have to understand and go for training as per the direction of our enhanced cell guidance. Companies take a lot of things into account apart from scores and this is where it becomes inevitable for us to go for it. Top level companies are the ones that gets along and gives nearly 90% of the students.

Currently what a job require and what we are being taught in the college, totally different. We have to study separately for preparing job because in our course curriculum, importance skills aren't taught and the frequency of exam throughout the year is too much. We don't get enough time for preparing jobs. We need less frequency of exams throughout the year so that we can prepare for a job.
