In these placements, college invites several companies to their campuses to recruit students studying in that college. After analyzing different skills being taught by the college and the CV, company sets some criteria to qualify in several rounds and finally get a job in that company. Students who fulfil all the criteria and qualify in each and every round get selected.

Placements of my college are good but 40% of students don't get placed. Placed ones get great packages. Reasons for bad placements are not many mass recruiters visit our campus, companies that visit just hire 2 to 3 candidates. Even those tiny recruiters come in less number. Institution conducts personality development sessions and a workshop for students. Recently they signed up with a educational startup that conductes aptitude examinations to the final years.

A college hostel has a lot of benefits. News about what is going on in college, hostel and even outside spreads very quickly. You get assignments very easily. No need to do assignments and write ups on your own. During exams, especially practical exams, group study can be done, which is very helpful. If our have any doubt, you can go to your batch mate anytime. Though all of the above mentioned is only possible if a lot of your batch mates are living in college hostel.

I suggest focusing on what is important and that is student achievement. It doesn't really matter who it is done as long as the students learn the material. I would suggest setting up course learning objectives and then assess how well the students learned the material.
