IGNOU, Bsc life science

Remarks

IGNOU is good for those who don't want to or can't attend regular classes, who are working. Everything is good about IGNOU except one thing which is that they hang out the student I.e, by updating late marks, checking markings are not good. Otherwise, it is good. Now admissions are online, at mine time that was on offline mode.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose BSc Life Science because I have an interest in reading or gaining knowledge about humans, animals as well. Since biology is my favourite subject from my school time so I chose this. Most of the students whether they get 99% or an average in secondary education, come and learn together. Lectures given by lecturer were also good. About term exams, yeah they held in June (for June session students) or December ( dec session students) session I.e, 2 times in a year. Practicals are also are done. All were good.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

In my course, there was not an internship option to attend. And I don't know about other courses in Ignou whether they have internships in that or not.

Placement Experience

4

I didn't get any job from Ignou campus however I still received messages and calls regarding interviews.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee was seriously not high as in all universities for regular ones. About scholarships, jobs or financial assistance I would say I still get msg, calls from Ignou campus interview.

Campus Life

4

Since we were not attended classes regularly so we were not the part of any annual fest, tech fest, sports or any other curricular activities. Books we get through by-post or some times not.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Ignou do not provide any hostel facilities to any of their students because ignou is an open university, students learnt from itself as self-study or by attending Saturday or Sunday classes not regularly as compared to other universities.

Interview Experience

4

No, I didn't get GD, interview session in Ignou except in practical classes. I still get messages and calls for interviews.

I will rate 10 out of 7 to this course curriculum because in this course the experiment and lab works is too low as compare to another courses like biomedical science, bsc zoology and many more. But it's ok I'm happy with this course.

Students become eligible for placements on the 3rd year, we have decent placement opportunities but not the best, highest package is around 15 lakhs. Companies that visit are Bain and Co., Urban Clap etc. average package is around 5 lakhs. My plans after getting the degree are getting into a master's programme and pursuing research.
