Remarks

One of my friends had suggested SMVDU to me and since it is GFTI with fees way less than the private colleges, I decided that it might be a viable option for me. I have always wanted to so something in IT. It has an excellent campus (520 acres), coding culture and helpful seniors. I have chosen SMVDU for three reasons, one of them being the locality which combines a lot of cultures not to mention the beautiful scenery everywhere, then I look at the tech environment, which is really wonderful. The third thing is the funding, one of the most important things that made me apply here.

Course Curriculum Overview

Well teachers are like that of any other Indian college. But the students are helpful and if you're willing to work hard you can grab excellent good placements. Course curriculum is updated every year and is better as compared to some NIT's.

Internships Opportunities

NUWUD, It was a basic website freelancing task - No stipend

Placement Experience

They are not bad but not good either top 2 students with good GPA get 10Lack/Anum rest get what they deserve as per their skill level

College Events

The campus life is awesome you can meet with seniors. There isn't any ragging so that's always a plus point. You can always find some group having fun at any time of the day to pass your time. It's upto you to make time for studies and your future. The fests happen but they aren't as extravagant as an IIT but still they are awesome and very enjoyable. You can always go to other college fests. There's a big culture of sports fest. And people start preparing months before the fest for the mega event. Overall its an awesome experience and you won't regret this aspect of the life. Students can often be found playing sports with faculty in the morning and evening. The hostels are good but small for 2, 3 and 4th year students. (R.I.P us 1st year students who couldn't enjoy even one year because of Corona). The girls are really pretty and you can find the one for you here maybe. The girl to boy ratio in other degrees like Msc. Economics is 3:1. LOL so there's hope. Even though its messed up in engineering it's not as messed up as other engineering colleges. LETS MEET IF YOU JOIN HERE.

Campus Life

We have a sports complex (with swimming pool building up)., 2 gyms(for boys dont know about the girls gym) with cheap membership cost (300 Rs/6 Months) and a huge sports ground. They are definitely more than adequate.

Hostel Facilities

There is no need for ACs/cooler in summer. There's 24 hours supply of cool chilled water. First year hostel for boys (all 4 years for girls) are heaven (newly constructed). You'll have the time of your life. But for other 3 years it will be an ok experience. The hostels are good but small for 2, 3 and 4th year students. (R.I.P us 1st year students who couldn't enjoy even one year because of Corona). The cafeteria is awesome you get patty and tasty snacks for 20-40Rs and some drinks of course. For first year you share your room with 2 people. From second year onwards you get shared or single room as per your CGPA and you choice. The higher the CGPA the higher probability that you'll get the room of your choice. Its a residential university so availing hostels are compulsory.

Placements aren't that good and for Zoology it's like the research roles in labs and under research professors so mostly a salary of 30-50k is what students of Zooly gets at our college and even DU stidnets get the same.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course work for PhD programmes is very relevant and maliable. You can pick and choose your own individual challenges and subjects. There are no restrictions on the freedom of choice. However, you might have to enroll in a few Swayam course for the completion of your course work. The course work also does not prepare you for any real world applications or even your PhD really. Course work can be heavily improved by a new hands-on pedagogy which may induce ideas instead of deducing them from various books and sources. The frequency of exams is once per coursework.
