Remarks

Firstly it's in my locality, although it's a full women's university (college) it has a very high placement rate as compared to other colleges ; the faculties are well updated and highly cooperative ; no ragging issues at all ;very nice alumni network; if one is regular in the lectures and labs there's no need to worry about exams or tests at all, cause the system is very flexible.

Course Curriculum Overview

My college follows the iit curriculum, and the faculties are very well updated. The unit tests as well as semester exams papers are also in house, ie, our university only sets it because we are autonomous, so get the benefit at the state level as well as have our own rules. We have represented our college at national level too. One gets extra credit on representing the college, be it a technical, sport, cultural competition. There is a proper balance one gets with academics and Co-curricular activities. All the faculties are extremely sweet and highly cooperative. One just needs to be regular with attendance (75%). We have become a family now because almost 8-9 hrs a student is in the college only.

Most of the companies visit our college for placement. There are several companies for a specific trade too. Barclay's, Accenture, oracle, tata motors, ericsson, many more.

College Events

We have all the activities ranging from cultural to technical to fests, just name it and we have it. We have many technical ans well as non technical councils and every single student (from any year) is a member or representative of atleast 1 council. We have all the festivals celebrated here.

Campus Life

We have 2 libraries in our college building (1 central - for the entire university, 1 College - all course related books). Our labs are very well designed and equipped, we have in total 3 sports ground and a huge auditorium.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. i applied in difffrent colleges like ST. Francis college of engineering, borivali , Atharva college of engineering , malad etc. I didnt make it there as being a student belonging to the open category the cutoff for my desired branch was a bit higher whereas my college provided me with an opportunity to be eligibible for my desired branch.
