Remarks
The college is very good and provides all the resources of a proper college life. Only the infrastructure being in question. The management does a good work be it related to anything.
Entrance Preview
At my time we had MHT-CET in which I scored a decent 130. It was decided that I was taking Computer Engineering due to my interest in coding. The admission process was online but TSEC also has offline admission process for institute quota and Sindhi Quota. 50% of the seats of all branches are reserved for Sindhi Quota. I had gone for the third round at Aurangabad through the DTE online admission process, the third round is offline. There is no interview just submission of documents and the fees.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty good, affiliated to the Mumbai University (MU). The college is strict for the syllabus and sticks to it. Notes are provided by teachers which are easy to go through.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are very less and not that common. I have no experience on it, so won't mention it. Most of the students take internships through references. The college has a internship cell but not every one uses it.
Placement Experience
The placements are over 100% as most of the students get multiple jobs. Companies such as Morgan Stanley, L&T, JP Morgan and Delloit offer pakages over 7 lakhs with the highest this year going to 13 lakhs, each company chooses only 1 student. Then we have mass recruiters like TCS, Accenture that take away the whole lot and no one is left behind. The salary ranges from 3-4 Lakhs.
College Events
Well TSEC is known for its festivals. With almost every weekend having festivals be it technical or cultural though from this year the staff has had a bit of cut down on the number of festivals and the days allotted still there are plenty to have. The biggest Cultural festival being Trifles organized by the Student Counsil in the even semester. The biggest Technical festival being ISAAC organized by IEEE-TSEC which is claimed to be the biggest technical festival in the all of Mumbai University (IIT B isn't counted in Mumbai University). The participation count during ISAAC is as much as 2000 students from colleges all over Mumbai.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees are very expensive as compared to the infrastructure and other facilities provided by the college. The fees for the current year is around 1.3 lakhs per annum. They are much more if you look at the infrastructure and the quality of labs and also no free WiFi.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't availed any scholarships but yes plenty of them are available. My friends have applied and cleared too. The scholarships almost cover your fees for the year.
Campus Life
The campus life is very good. No such problems of any kind. Students are very friendly and interaction is healty too. The gender ratio is 1:1. No hostel, no parties.
Hostel Facilities
There is no hostel and mess facility available with the college. Though students have taken rooms in the areas nearby and also hostels of other colleges are available for the stay. Canteen facility is available though without an infra for it. The food is excellent in taste and the prices in check. Other options available around the college are the famous Jay Sandwich, McDonalds, KFC, Gelato, etc.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are just excellent. There has never been a Junior-Senior situation at TSEC and never will be. They are available whenever you want and help you a lot.
Exam Structure
There are 2 periodic tests in every semester as prescribed by the University. The labs are almost every day for the week and the college is working even on Saturdays unlike other majority of colleges. This obviously makes this a hectic but you need to be a bit more smart to get ways to manipulate your time table and a get a day off.
Faculty
The faculty is mixed. All teachers have enough knowledge but only some of them have the ability to make students understand. Majority of the teaching is done through the presentations. In any ways it depends on the student how much he takes in.
