OPJGU is one of the top universities in India especially for Law and Global Affairs. They have very lucrative amenities for residential students and offer great exposure. The professors are very much experienced in their field and will support us in our research ideas.
Course Curriculum Overview
IÕm a fresher who has not yet entered the campus, but the seminars that was held was very informative, and various experts in different fields accepted JGUÕs invite - like the ambassador of Israel, Syria, African Union etc shared their insight about their geopolitics and the impact of CoVID-19 in their respective countries.
Placement Experience
IÕm a fresher, and IÕm not in a position to answer this. I just know from the orientation that a lot of corporate and Think Tanks, including CLAWS hire JSIA students, along with the chance of interning or volunteering at the various levels United Nations or its specialised agencies. But I cannot vouch for it because IÕve not yet experienced one.
College Events
IÕm a fresher student and till now IÕve not experienced any event personally. But IÕve heard the great success of Magnus - the biggest sporting event in JGU, Diplomathon, Moot Court events, and various big cultural fests.
Fees and Financial Aid
The University has merit cum means scholarship. But in my personal experience I’m telling you, the college doesn’t care much about your merit in this scholarship criteria though the title and the form ask so. If your parents fall “well” under the combined income of 40 lakhs per annum (BA HONS) and 30 Lakhs for other courses, you have a decent chance of availing the scholarship. The scholarship form and the know-how’s about it will be mailed by the admissions outreach once you’re admitted into the university.
Campus Life
It has 24/7 moderately strong Wi-Fi in every room, reading rooms, well equipped library, a gym every fitness freak dreams about, Football, Cricket, Badminton, Tennis, Hockey, Swimming, etc. It has very good restaurant outlets like Subway Dominos Punjab Grill Mansukh etc apart from the canteen run by the university.
Hostel Facilities
The same as campus infrastructure, plus laundry and room cleaning assistance. Undergraduate students have a curfew of returning back to the campus by 10 pm if they opt for going out somewhere. But they also have to get the gate pass signed virtually by their parents online. Every service in the hostel is via bidding and first come first serve basis as far as I’ve heard about it. I’ve not yet personally experienced the hostel because I’m entering the college in the pandemic year xD
