My College at its best

I must say I don't find any bad in this college as I love to live and study here with very good faculties and facilities that are required for a student. I must suggest to get admission in this college if not got selection in any good IITs.

I have given the GATE examination for the Post Graduation. I got selected in the College which is the heart of City i.e. SGSITS Indore. I scored 41 out of 100 Marks. I opted this college as I wanted to do PG in Thermodynamics as I did my graduation in Mechanical engineering for IET DAVV college.

The course curriculum is very simple and includes all the topics necessary to learn at PG level with lots of practical. There are 4 lab session in a week apart form 5 theory classes to learn.The syllabus is such that is not a burden to students. its really good to have such syllabus format in Thermodynamics Department.

The college provide internship to students at Graduation as well as at Post Graduation level. Students do internship in their semester break. I am also doing internship in my vacation in the Steam Turbine field. The college is having all the facility in the campus for students. Only college in Central India to have such facilities for students.

The Placement and job opportunities are really good at this college. At graduation level, lots of companies come to college for different streams. and placement percentage was about 96% in 2015 period. I also got selected in Thermal Power Plant in Jharkhand. My classmates also got selected at different companies. I am now just waiting to compete my PG.

The college celebrate the annual fest every year around march month. Many tech fest of different streams are also initiated by college. At PG level we also have lots of tech fest and inter-college and inter-state level competition and won prizes as well.

The fee structure is simple and there are no hidden clauses in the fee structure. It can be submitted at a time or in installments. It is a worth to study in this college as its a govt college in MP and fee is really at its low level as compared to other colleges.

Yes, college is providing many scholarships to studious students. Also students got concessions during admission who belongs to minorities classes and to merit students. The fee can also be submitted by taking loan if not able to submit it in cash. Students are free to follow any payment mode.

The campus life is really superb. College is spread in a 45 acres campus and is situated in the middle of Indore city with all transportation facilities to nearby areas. The gender ration is also good as there is a girls quota in the college to maintain the gender ratio and provide opportunity to girls also. The college is having facilities for almost all sports. Tech fest usually happens in every month.

The hostel facilities are good. PG students are provided with a room with two person accommodation with almost no disturbances. The rooms are also well constructed keeping in view the proper ventilation, racks, self's etc with the study tables and chairs.The Mess of college is also good if we are studying in a govt college.

The alumni cell of college is very helpful to students. As college is very old(1967) many alumni come to college for recruiting the students for their firm. Or they recommend the companies to visit SGSITS. Many functions are arranged to facilitate the alumnus.

The exam structure is very simple. We have our mid terms in every 2 months and then the Semester exam in every 6 month. The format is also simple which includes 50% weightage of Theory papers and 50% of practicals. It becomes more easy to learn the theoretical side with the help of practicals which also reflects in our results.

The college is really blessed with high quality students and the students too. The faculties are experienced and expert in their fields. Some of them even received national awards in their respective fields. They take classes regularly being senior faculty and do come in time. Also the lab facilities and activities performed under their guidance is very useful.
