Remarks

It's a govt. college so is economically feasible even for students from poor financial background (as there many scholarships available). Also the certificate has its value also will get financial aids from govt. to conduct National Seminars etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

Maily the syllabus wasn't practically oriented but we get knowledge about the subject from different area but not in depth because the syllabus to be covered is more than the time allocated. The faculties are good most of them are Phd holders and are permanent.

Placement Experience

0.5

The placement opportunity is poor. But most of the students who passed from our dept has secured high positions later. There CA, CMA, many lectures, Entrepreneurs, Accountant, Political leaders etc. The alumini of our college plays an important role as they have contributed much to enhance our college's position to a high level.

College Events

3

The campus life is awesome. There is a special bond between the students of each department also within the dept. Also the teachers are friendly and cooperative. Even though there isn't a good opportunity to expose the talents of students outside the campus. within the campus there are plenty of opportunities to explore those

Fees and Financial Aid

Central sector scholarship - 10, 000 /year. For those who scored 90 above in 12th (but all those who applied wont get it) The students who secured highest among the applicants will be given the scholarship ( don't have an idea about the no. of students who cab get it)

Campus Life

Transportation facility is poor. The library has a wide variety of books as it help in references. There are many sports equipments but are not utilised efficiently as the faculty for physical education gets transferred frequently and the govt. fails to appoint a permanent faculty instead.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are provided by the govt and its infrastructure is good even the food is also better as we feel a homely touch in it. But the problems is there is only few seats available but there will be a progression in the coming years. The SC/ST students and other minorities gets the the whole hostel fee refunded. For others the mess fee is divided. But anyhow it won't cross 1500 /month. Pg is also available but it cost almost 3500/month.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very old and must be improved to be on par with the ever expanding new technologies. I took this course, since I have a passion in programming. But there are various subjects which are minimal to no - relevant towards my department, which is IT. Chemistry, Chemistry Lab, Physics, Physics lab, Maths ( even though some parts of maths and physics is needed, it can be joined with the other programming subjects so that only things that are specifically necessary are being teached and both, being a seperate subject is unnecessary ), Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical, Civil, Mech Lab, Civil Lab, and all other non-credit subjects ( if there is no credit, why studying ? ). And can include more subjects revolving around various programming languages such as, C++, C#, Kotlin, React, etc.

Placements are offered here but for now its really bad. College have a placement cell. Usually a lot of company used to come and take 100s of graduates. This year hits different. Placements were really bad this year. Avg package provided is also low. RS 5.5LPA was the highest and 4 LPA is the avg salary for placed students.

Placement Experience:

There are placements in St thomas, with a placement cell but I have to say it beyond terrible. Especially students from criminology and forensics have zero opportunities in their field. They barely help with higher education or career counseling. It was quite frustrating as they had a negative approach itself to our batch

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum had so many unnecessary subjects that had no connection with our courses like psychology, zoology etc. They could have avoided that. Jewellery Designing students also had to study advanced minerology . Which in my opinion was a bit unnecessary. Apart from that i learnt to improve my drawing and rendering skills. Learnt about new types and also the history of jewellery Designing. Tools and Machinery used.
