BIT Mesra is a well reputed college specially in East India and has good placement record and also it is in my home town. Moreover the crowd of students is really good and the CSE department of the college is very good
Course Curriculum Overview
The course syllabus in our batch was very theoretical and archaic and we were not given options for electives. But from the next batch the syllabus was upadated significantly updated. Faculties varied from exta ordinary to below par. Mrs Vandana Bhattacharya, Mrs Vandana (maths department), Dr. Sahu, Dr. Saha, Dr Anup Keshri were some good faculties.

Placement Experience
About 200 companies visited with many dream and super dream companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart, Goodman sach, Adobe, Direct-i etc. Generally they were for the profile of Develeper. Almost all students from CSE and IT department got placed and 60-80% from other departments. There's a Training and Placement Portal where we get all the updates. Generally there's the initial aptitude round in the Computer labs followed by Technical interviews. Alumni network is really good but entrepreneur cell is very ordinary.
College Events
Co curricular activities were a big part of BIT Mesras campus life. There were many technical clubs which held inter and intra college hackathon and technical competitions. The cultural clubs organised functions on almost every Friday night. But Pantheon and BITotsav were the main events where colleges from all round the country took part. I used to be in the organising committee in some capacity or the other.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a G. P. Birla scholarship which is offered to students with good academic record (cgpa above 8. 5 in a semester) and humble financial background witch family income below 3. 5L. p. a.
Campus Life
Sports facilities were significantly improved when we went to 2nd year and the gymnasium etc. were modernised. Rest of the facilities like labs were already good. Library was really big and had seldom felt sort of the required books. As per internet, every hostel room had an Ethernet LAN connection which was upgraded to unlimited usage during our stay at College. The speed was satisfactory.
Hostel Facilities
Except for a brief period I mostly had single room hostel in the college. basic amenities were satisfactory and mess food was also satisfactory. Availing hostel facility was very easy. There was never shortage of room.
