Remarks

Brilliant teaching and environment in the college with lots of opportunities to participate in sports music and cultural events. It helps you develop interpersonal skills on a solid academic foundation making you an all round and competent doctor. Only negative aspect is a fragmented campus which is offset by the beautiful city and the ease of travel within it. Overall a positive experience

Entrance Preview

KCET rank 56 Mahe rank 92 COMED K 21 Had an option at all govt and private colleges of karnataka Cmc ludhiana St johns bangalore Had an option of taking the seat both through a totally free seat through Mahe as well as by a government seat through kcet. I took through KCET Kmc has brilliant teaching facikitied both in theory and especially in clinicals For those who know the local language its a brilliant choiceIt has wonderful sporting facilities. Situated in a relatively small town. Beautiful city and wonderful environment. Easy to travel within city

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

According to standard Mci regulations. Adequate teaching hours Very good clinical teaching especially in the attached got hospital Preclinicals and Preclinicals are so strong that by the time you reach the clinical posting you know what's going on. Seniors give good guidance most of the times if you ask the right people Good focus is given on research

Internships Opportunities

Currently i think it is 25000 my time was 15000. Internship was moderately busy with good exposure to procedure and clinical work and no clinicals work in govt hospital. The private hospital had a bit of clerical work though However students are free to choose their Internship location, even elsewhere.

Placement Experience

4.5

Very good. Most of my batch have got good post graduate seats. I did well in my post graduate exams and am currently doing radiology in bangalore

College Events

4.5

Utsav manipal. Very high participation Yearly inter class. Extremely high batch participation. About 80 percent Conference routine organized by departments

Fee Structure And Facilities

Cheap through the government seat around 1.5 lac a year now. 0.6 lac a year at my time. However they give very good laptops to students with a fully covered health insurance which is very good Through Mahe about 8 lacs a year which is expensive

Fees and Financial Aid

They offer a free seat for 13 students with a total payment of rs 3500 the first 13 people who take seats in top hundred. I took a govt seat so had to decline this because ididn't have my certificates ready

Campus Life

4.5

Very good campus life. Lots of scope for extracurricular activities. I played violin for 6 musical and numerous competitions while iwas there Also played a lot of chess with support in the form of coaching staff and travel arrangements for competitions Lots of societies like debate. Literary. Music. Dedicated teams very formed for specific competitions. There were people who played games like taekwondo, also people who played at international music events

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rooms are of moderately size. However single as well as double occupancy is available. Also ac hostel are available. Hostel rent is about a lac a year

Alumni/Alumna

A very good support system exists where the alumni do help you in your future prospect in the form of job offers training and reference letters. The experience with seniors was good, especially with one musically qualified and very talented senior taking me under his wing and improving my musical skills. The alumni provide good advice on future choices and are there for you if you contact them by e mail. Lot of alumni are on foreign shores and will help current students in their application s for internship etc.

Exam Structure

Exams were placed with sufficient gap in between and even with rest days between papers. The batch was large resulting in a comfortably space out practical exam schedule. The theory exams were sensible with quick declaration of results and with removal of promitive course material. The exam structure included multiple choice questions preparing the student for upcoming pg entrance exams. Lot of focus was given not just on the present but also about the future in the structure of these exams

Faculty

4.5

The faculty especially the Preclinicals and paraclinical were extremely good. The clinical teaching especially in the main subjects were brilliantLots of freedom to choose the way you learn

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very comprehensive and relevant for exams but not for real world applications. I feel let the parts of body I was specially fascinating so I like anatomy very much and we also got a very good teacher, the curriculum is very good for examinations however the real wall applications of this curriculum is very little, they should be more real life applications and whatever the latest technology than studies are happening the student should get the latest info about them, timing between two exams in an internal semester should be a little more such as a day or two because we do not get time to prepare the subjects curriculum very well for the examination.
