Remarks

After getting my graduation degree in BA(Hons) History, I applied for a degree in B.Ed in various colleges. I opted for this course in order to gain further knowledge and understanding of the education system and its influence on our society. I opted for St. Lawrence College of Higher Education after reading its reviews on many websites that are available on Google and after visiting the college and meeting its faculty. After studying in this college for two years, I can confidently say that I have understood and experienced the importance of education. Although the infrastructure seemed to be unsatisfactory, the faculty remained open and helpful through out the course.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I believe the course syllabus was as updated as can be expected within the education field. The syllabus could not inculcate the most recent changes made by the boards of education. However the faculty tried its best to make up for this gap. Yes, we were provided with enough industrial exposure or in this case school exposure. Within the course, each student is supposed to participate in three distinct school experiences spread over the first three semester. Moreover the third semester is entirely based on internship experience and we had the opportunity to intern in St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Civil Lines, Delhi 110054Assistant Professor Bhavya Bharti remains a favourite faculty member for me. Her teaching statement matched exceedingly well with the classes that she was taking.

Internships Opportunities

I interned in St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School in 2019 as a trainee teacher. It was part of the course.I also interned in Inhalt Innovations as a content writer (SEO) from July 2019 to September 2019.

Placement Experience

3

The students have the freedom to contact the placement cell of the college regarding job opportunities. The assigned placement cell faculty holds a discussion with the student as advises them as per their needs. They connect the student with various schools regarding job opportunity criteria as well. However, I believe it needs much more improvement.

College Events

3.5

Indraprastha University holds AnuGoonj Fest every year in which thousands of students participate from all of its colleges. There are many activities in which students can participate like college making, debates, music concerts etc.

Campus Life

3

St. Lawrence College of Higher Education is built along with St. Lawrence School. While the school is on first two floors, the college is on the third floor. It is an O- shaped building. There are separate classes for each specification in B.ed, a large hall where assemblies are held and a library which is further divided into two adjoining rooms. Labs are well equipped with teaching aids that have been made throughout the years. Wi-fi facility is available. Outside the building there is an adjoining ground where college students are permitted to go and engage in different sports activities as per their interests and discussion with the faculty.

I feel like the curriculum is a little out dated and boring but due to a good faculty it makes the course more worthwhile The curriculum is very text based and less practical and more emphasis on bookish knowledge persists still .

As per I've heard, placements here are decent. I can't say for sure because I'm new here. About my plans, I am doing CFA side by side because I don't believe that a bachleors degree has any valur of it's own, one needs to pair it with something else.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a person who wants to build a strong foundation in both economics and mathematics, B.A.(Hons.) Economics was my first choice. This course not only provide valuable insights into how real world economics work, but it also has great career prospects. Students studying economics major actively take consulting, research, risk management as popular career choices. Since this is a practical course with a broad focus on mathematics, the difficulty level is from moderate to high.

Placement Experience:

Students after completing third year are eligible for placement. Placements start before starting of fourth year, and it requires students to have no backlogs in any subjects. However companies can imply their own rules to filter the students such as minimum CGPA criteria. But placements of our college is one of the best placement for a non-IIT college, despite having so many student intake.
