Institute management is good. Generally there will not be such requirement to deal with management.

Course Curriculum Overview

Excellent course curriculum. Student get chance to do their projects outside during second year. Very dynamic sessions. I did internship during second year in a MNC and then got placed in the same company. Course curriculum does provide you choices. Curriculum includes project work too to have practical exposure.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Placement Experience

Best institute for placements. You will have so many opportunities for placements. Try to maintain high CGPA as top companies allow the students having higher CGPA. Generally more than 8 CGPA is preferable to have. LinkedIn, Amazon, Google, Yahoo, microsoft etc. like companies visited for the placement. good internship opportunities.

College Events

In my time, I had enjoyed program of SingerJaved ali. Institute has good technical and cultural events being organised. students from nearby college attend the festival and technical events. Cultural event showing the culture of states was organised during my tenure. Fashion, ramp walk events were organised too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As per government structure. as this is a government institution, so tution fees and all is determined by government of India. Hostel fees and tution fees are taken semester wise. I got 8000 as GATE fellowship for first year. Second year I did internship so was not eligible for the same.

Fees and Financial Aid

I received 8000 GATE fellowship. You need to be GATE qualified for this. I did took education loan from SBI.

Campus Life

Campus life is nice. As this institute is near suratkal beach, you can beach daily. Sports ground is there to play cricket, football etc. Swimming pool is there. Gym facility is there. Indoor game badminton court is there. Equal opportunity is provided to alll without any gender bias. As this is a national institute so one can expect students from different parts of the country. politics is not there much.

Hostel Facilities

I stayed in hostel. It was two sharing room. I stayed with my Assamese friend. Mostly hostel room will be available. Quality of rooms were Okay. I don't remember the hostel fees now. but it was close to 35000.

Hostel Fee: INR 70000 per year

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is good. I still see mail for jobs from alumni group. Alumni group is there on Facebook, LinkedIn etc.

Admission

I qualified 2012 GATE. I took admission in system analysis and computer applications branch. I was looking for computer science stream but didn't get during counseling. Counseling was online. After allotment of college I visited the institute for admission. This institution was among top five of the Indian institution. so no problem in choosing the college.

Faculty

Faculties are best. Theory class sessions are good with expert and experienced faculties. You can choose the faculty to do your project work. They assist well to complete the projects under their guidance. You will have good lab facilities and to practice codes.

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem the students will be eligible for campus placements Companies Infosys ,Tata ,Samsung, Mercedes ,Bosch, Many more etc. Highest package was given at 6.5 lakhs And the average package will come around 3 lakhs . It's like 50 : 50 ratio where you'll get 50% of them will qualify for the placements and 50% will not qualify replacements. I just want to do Masters after my degree.

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.

A mini heaven on earth called NITK

After GATE exam, I applied to almost all top NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal, NIT Warangal, NIT Calicut etc during CCMT counselling . I had also applied in IIT Dhanbad in COAP counselling. I got IIT Dhanbad in 8th round. I spoke to my coaching Sir, he had advised me to go for top 3 NITs rather than IIT Dhanbad. Since these three NITs are well established and offer better placement opportunities as compared to IIT Dhanbad which is relatively a new IIT. One needs to qualify GATE exam to get a shot at taking admission in IITs/NITs. Once you qualify the GATE exam you can then look at specific colleges cutoff for admission. I got NIT Surathkal in special round 1 which was held after 3 regular rounds. I preferred NIT Surathkal as compared to other NITs since its considered in top 3 NITs and also it's near my home as compared to NIT Trichy....Read More

LIFE AT NITK

I had applied for other IITs & NITs with different branches like IIT GUWAHATI and IIT BHU ,IIT ROORKEE,NIT TRICHY as i wasn't able to clear the cutoff according to their requirements i got NITK SURATHKAL which was the best that i got i choosed the other colleges because of their higher placement records more average salary packages and the most OG thing is that i wanted the IITian tag but i had also got a seat allocated in IIT BHU in metallurgy but i didnt wanted to take it and finally i chose NITK SURAATHKAL because it near to my hometown Banglore and the weather is very good there it has a privatre beach along with a light house many places to visit around NITK SURATHKAL mainly a very big campus of aroung 300 acres and multiple number of sports opportunities it has 2 gym .
