Remarks

India Institute of Technology, kanpur is one of the premier Institute in India for science and technology. It has very vast network of alumni and renowned academic programs which led me get admission into the college. Also, I was also fascinated by the campus life, which did not disappoint me.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculties were top notch but few courses were outdated and required upgradations. Curriculum wise it was student centric, which let's the student choose courses which he/she wants to do and not imposing on him. There were many electives to choose from and one can choose courses from other departments as well. I took many courses from Humanity and Social Sciences department.

Class Size: 55Course Fees: INR 230000 per year

Internships Opportunities

I interned at Credit Suisse as Technical Analyst. My stipend was 40k per month.

Placement Experience

Overall Placements are good. Everyone who wants to get placed get placed. All placements takes place in month of December. More than 300 companies visit campus for placements to recruit more than 2000 students each year.

College Events

Campus is amazing. Lots of events happen throughout the year. Many clubs and societies to be part of. I was part of Gymkhana and entrepreneurship cell. Antaragni is the annual cultural fests with footfall of more than 2 lakhs. Techkriti is the annual technical fest with budget of more than 3 crore. Colleges from various parts of country come to participate in the events. Entrepreneurship Cell holds many events like pitching events, entrepreneurship summits and investor conclave throughout the year.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships available for students like merit-cum-means, KVPY, Aditya Birla Scholarships.

Campus Life

Simply Awesome with all the state of the art technology. Fully WiFi campus, perfectly functional hostels with all amenities, gym, world class library, food courts, parks, lecture hall complex, state of the art labs, 2 sports complexes, play grounds for all major sports (centralized as well as inside hostels as well)

Hostel Facilities

Hostel is compulsory for everyone in college. In first and second year, rooms are 3 sharing while in third year rooms are 2 sharing. In final year, rooms are single sharing. Hostel fees is arounf 10000 per semester excluding mess charges.

Hostel Fee: INR 25000 per year

Course Curriculum Overview:

BCA is really relevant for todays technology upgradations going on in world. I was into tech and coding so i opted BCA and since college is accessible by metro and have good name so i took admission in it and i regret not. Curriculum is up to date and changes yearly as required in recent technology and ties up with trends. There is no space for improvement as of now. Exams happen frequently like class test ans assignments and they make u study from scratch so there is no difficulty its moderate.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good. Companies that hire for Electrical core: Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Bajaj etc. Software/Quant compaines open to Electrical: Squarepoint Capital, NK Securities, Google, Microsoft etc. The % of students getting placed are 85%. Average package is 29.33 lpa. I have got an internship in Nvidia Software.

IITK From Sparsh's Perspective

I choose this college becouse of its flexible acdemic structure and its great Alum connections. Also this is the best college i am getting according to my rank and my interest in mathematics. I have Applied for IIT delhi in electronics. IIT Delhi is also a great college but when it comes to academic focus IIT delhi lacks there. Also there faculty administratation is so strict. if a student wants to start something or he/she has a new iniative for the college , he/she will face hard time. So I couldn't make it to IIT Roper CSE branch because my jee adance rank is not that great for the Roper' Computer science. So the Admission process here at IITK is not difficult. You just the originaly document which you have submitted in your josa counselling portal and you need to verify it once here usually a couple opf hours work. I chose IIT Kanpur over othe rcooleges because of its academic reputation, research opportunities and strong alumini network. I was also able to get seats in other IITs but I preferred IIT Kanpur due to its legacy . I didn't face rejections, but did not opt for some colleges even after qualifying due to lower research output, weaker placement stats.
