Remarks

This is among very few colleges in Kolkata which provides combination of both Journalism and Mass Communication along with Film Studies subject. It is the rarest combination and this college provides it. So I choose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Our course is well defined and consists of variety of subjets with practical learning. We have lot of opportunites after doing this course. Our course includes internship facilities and it will help us in future. Our teaching faculty is also very good. We are being taught about computer designing,web page editing and many more including Film making and editing.

Class Size: 34Course Fees: INR 60000 per year

Placement Experience

We have opportunity of placement but not from our college. Our college donot provides campus recruitment as no such companies are likely to visit our college. We have to get job through our source and reference but our teachers can suggest us and provide guidance regarding placement and job opportunities.

College Events

Our college life is going very fine and well. Our course includes familarizing and socialising with other colleges and Institutions so we have to attend many events and seminars hosted by other colleges. We went for Inter college Debate competition hosted by South city college as we emerged as 2nd runners up. Teachers day celebration, Freshers party and Saraswati puja is celebrated in our college.

Campus Life

Our college infrastructure is not well maintained and it lacks space. The classrooms of other department is not so big enough to accomodate all their tentative strength. But our classroom and lab is well properly maintained with computers, projectors, Digital Cameras and many more expensive equipments.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of the course is pretty nice with diversified subjects alsong with specialization subjects in the 3rd and 4th semester. Some compulsory subjects include Tagore Studies and Basics of Communication. The course also includes Development Communication, Online media, Journalism, Gender studies, Advanced Audio Visual Production. The department is well equipped a mac lab but it only have 5 macs. The curriculum also includes Design, UIUX, Graphics design etc, and the curriculum is continuously updating with moden media teachings. The curriculum mostly prepare us for Academic Purposes than Industry.
