Remarks

Best college and reputed college for polytechnic. Labs are well equipped for electrical engineering. College support athletes and sports with great support. They provide coaches for every sport and amazing facilities. Teachers here are also helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

Somaiya polytechnic has its own syllabus and curriculum the course is structured in such a way that pattern focuses on practical more which is important for electrical. Academics is good as it has all facilities. Faculties are decent.

Diploma doesn't have much placements almost whole class goes for degree. Placements are provided to students who want. For campus placements good guidance is given by placement cell.

College Events

College has many technical fest almost every department has their own competition. Various cultural fest are celebrated and Navratri is one of them. College celebrates one fest named Symphony where colleges all over Mumbai participate.

Campus Life

College has good Wi-Fi connection and sport complex. Ground is too big almost all sports are covered. College has mini theater. Labs are equipped with all latest equipments. There are 2-3libraries and also gymkhana is pretty good.

Best was the international trip

Placement Experience:

We have to complete two months internship after our first year after which we can convert these internships into jobs and thus get placed as well. Around 50 percent students are currently placed. We can search for jobs on our own and well go for placements via college.

I've B.A (Psychology and philosophy) as my course. According to NEP you can do majors in psychology from 2nd year onwards and this will be decided on the basis of your result. Only 1st 90 students will be able to secure psychology seat and out of this 1st 45 students will haved aided course and 2nd half will have unaided course i.e they have to pay more than the 1st half but the faculty would be the same and the class is also same for both the halves. Also the course structure is nice and interesting enough.

Since we are secknd batch of data science we don't know much about how is the placement for data science students. There are good placements for bms students. I will be doing master after this degree and won't opt for placements.
