Entrance Preview
All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE)I loved computer science branch since I wanted to pursue my carrier in computer security. The admission process was simple, the college will publish a ranklist from the applicants based out of the criteria 50% of +2 exam marks and 50% of entrance exam score. According to the rank you will be called, you can choose any branch if seats are available.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college used the syllabus of Kannur University, pretty old and outdated. I think from this year onwards all colleges in Kerala will be under Kerala Technical University (KTU) with updated syllabus and all.
Internships Opportunities
It was good experience. Learn a lot about startups and how organisations work. I did internship in a developed a Malware Analysis platform for analysing Android Malware. The stipend was around 10000 Rs/ 15000 Rs.
Placement Experience
I got placed while I was doing my last year not from the college though. The companies that came are mostly TCS, Infosys, UST Global, South Indian Bank and some small companies. The packages offered were between 6 -9 Lacs.
College Events
We had awesome technical and management events like aavega, ( around 2000 students participated from campuses in kerala). We conducted Algorythm a technical + cultural event conducted as a part of IEEE chapter and the participation was around 1500.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees is OK, around 80K per month and a refundable 1 Lac caution deposit. We have additional fees for hostel, around 12K for 6 months and for food it's around 2.5K per month.
Fees and Financial Aid
College offered Scholarship to poor students with good ranks. Caution deposit wavier and fee wavier etc.
Campus Life
We were the south india's robotic champions , our college won lot of robotic competitions. I was a part of such team. I heard that my junior build 500 cc formula cars and they are attending races as well conducted by JK tyre.
Exam Structure
It was OK even though we had 4 internal exams in a semester with 3 of them as mandatory. Labs are well equipped and fun.
Faculty
They are good. But can't go much out of the subjects. Since I took computer science branch, most of the learning came from books, internet. We had a pretty good library and computer lab with mediocre internet facilities. The speed of internet was the only disgusting thing. Most faculties are M-Tech and are good in there subjects. Being a private institution they did a lot of spoon feeding expecting a better result.
