Course Curriculum Overview

Our college provides an outstanding course curriculum in Political science honours. It is a full time undergraduate degree course and aims to integrate the elements of state politics, political economy, comparative politics, political philosophy and international relations.

Placement Experience

2

Our institution is a government aided college affiliated to the University of Kalyani, and hence we have no direct placement opportunities in campus as such. Our college provides no internship opportunities as well.

College Events

4

Our institution conducts and celebrates a good number of events every year. This ranges from workshops to seminars, different social campaigns to cultural programs. Every year, we have the NCC program, Mushroom training, Seminar on child trafficking and child marriage, seminar on child line, save water, campus cleaning, workshops on handicrafts training etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure in our college is pretty nominal. My annual course fee in Political Science honours is 3K which is quite reasonable when compared with other colleges. This fee is inclusive of the registration fees, tuition fees and examination fees.

Campus Life

Our college has several infrastructural facilities which include a student's union room, separate common halls for boys and girls, physical exercise room, NSS room, seminar hall, botanical garden, canteen, computer lab, library etc. In short, our campus life is quite good and moreover we have equal opportunities for all. Ragging and other illegal activities are strictly dealt with.

Admission

Admissions of eligible candidates to Bethuadahari College is dependent solely on the merit of the qualifying examination. Primarily we had to fill up an online application form, based on which the college shortlisted a number of candidates who were invited for the document verification process. I had my name in the shortlist section and that's how I was granted admission.

Faculty

4.5

I guess we have some of the best faculty members across India in our college. They are adequately qualified and are super supportive. Even the guest lecturers are quite accommodating and have sheer excellence in their respective fields.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

I choose this course because the curriculum combines clear theoretical foundations with strong practical exposure, and hands on session influenced by decision most. The exam pattern was good. Moderate paper was there. Examiner had done a great job. For the curriculum we always had to pay extra money. In our 7th sem, we had all India tour, we did have any practical classes or theory exam still we had to pay for the practical and library not only that we had to pay for the trip as well.

Reviewed on Dec 17, 2024(Enrolled 2020)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is perceived as average , lacking specific elements that might make it stand out. In my case, the motivation was not to waste a year by opting for a drop. The flexibility in attendance which let me focus on other interests. The curriculum is same as MAKAUT, and the exam frequency is also controlled by MAKAUT .Areas of improvement is infrastructure and better faculty.
