The Sitalkuchi College is established in 1999 and is affiliated with the Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University. They educate the students to reach out for social support to the public. Their aim is to give a quality education to all the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

The college follows CBCS pattern. There are six semesters for the UG course to get completed. In English, we learn various aspects of prose, poetry and drama. The literature form old to modern ages are covered.

Placement Experience

There is a career counselling cell in our college. They tend to guide the students to get ready for the interview. They reach us all the basic discipline and inter personal communication. The job offer are on an average scale.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees will be around ?.2,000 approximately for each year of study in B.A.,Hons courses. It changes slightly with the general degree courses. You can find the cost to be feasible when compared to other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships and concession in tuition fee. This is given to meritorious students and to students who need financial support. The Minority Scholarship helps SC/ST students. There are also non-governmental scholarships.

Campus Life

There is a games and sports club, NSS, cultural clubs which organizes various events throughout the year. We also have seminars and workshops to enhance skills. The main facility is the online grievance cell to register any complaints in online mode.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni association is not much active as what we all feel towards their actions. They are too busy to spend time with us. But there are some good seniors who can help you personally. So never fail to make friendship your seniors.

Admission

The admission is only through the online application form. It is available on their website sitalkuchicollege.ac.in . The eligibli6for the UG course is a pass in the HSC or equivalent board of study.

Faculty

The faculty members of the college are grouped under the teachers council of the college. The department of English always tops in academics and extra curricular activities. It is only because of the support extended by the faculties of the department.

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Placement Experience:

The placement record in my college is preety good. 80-90% students are already placed this year. Average package is around 9.5lpa. Companies like ICICI, KPMG, PWC, Vedanta, Mother Dairy and so many are coming for recuiting students.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement is a race here. Handfull of good companies with good roles will come but they take good chunk of students. So be prepare for that and don't worry about getting good companies, here many companies offers better packages than those good companies.

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester (for btech students), 9th semester (for dual degree students) students are eligible for campus placements. there are numerous companies which visit the campus...and generally nearly all students get placed during the placement season, but recently there has been recession and companies are not taking less number of the students than they usually do.
