Course Curriculum Overview

The course is divided into three years, each year, the semester system is assigned, and each semester contains different topics related to the program. Geographic transmission, contemporary human geography, natural resource management, other geographical locations, and demographic factors.

As a geography teacher, college students get into good institutions like schools, and often, students are more interested in studying, so trying to get a post-doctorate degree becomes a geography professor.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I have a B.A. Geography, and my annual fee is Rs 1950 - I paid a total of Rs 29550 / -. Thus, the 3-year fee is designed to pay for itself without any stress. Due to lack of funds, the college is well equipped to accommodate students.

Campus Life

The college conducts excursions and tours to give students a better understanding of the geographical location and some degree of educational content. Additionally, the campus has a digital language lab and a good library.

Admission

Admission is a simple procedure. All I need to do is submit my paperwork, and the eligibility criteria is all you need from the CBSE / ICSE or other equivalent education board to get better grades at the higher secondary school level.

Faculty

All of my geography professors are highly trained and have a Ph.D. In geographical flow. Their nature is very kind and helped me to understand things, because geography requires a depth of key knowledge.

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Placement Experience:

The placement record in my college is preety good. 80-90% students are already placed this year. Average package is around 9.5lpa. Companies like ICICI, KPMG, PWC, Vedanta, Mother Dairy and so many are coming for recuiting students.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement is a race here. Handfull of good companies with good roles will come but they take good chunk of students. So be prepare for that and don't worry about getting good companies, here many companies offers better packages than those good companies.

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester (for btech students), 9th semester (for dual degree students) students are eligible for campus placements. there are numerous companies which visit the campus...and generally nearly all students get placed during the placement season, but recently there has been recession and companies are not taking less number of the students than they usually do.
