Remarks
Good in academics. Teaching is very good here. Library facilities are too good. People usually prefer this college because of climate of shimoga which is very pleasant. The overall campus experience was great here.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is overall very good. At the same time it becomes hectic for them who are non interested. Seriousness is very important if you are opting for this course. The total duration of the bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery course was 5 and half year. The course was more focused upon practical classes and also theory lessons. There were in total 9 semesters which were followed by 4 yearly examinations. The course ended with one year of rotational internship program. Course and curriculum were as prescribed by the Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences ! And let me tell you it was the best. Regarding exam, there were three internal assessment out of which best two were sent to University and one final exam which had two theory papers and one practical for all the subjects except for biochemistry in first year, forensic medicine In second year and Opthalmology and ENT in third year for which we faced one theory paper and one practical for each subject !
Placement Experience
Job opportunity was totally dependent on our performance. But yes our college provided internship. Internship was good and very knowledgeable. Stipend is not given at my time but they planning to add this in coming years.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The duration of the MBBS course from the college is around 4 years. Every year I paid 51000 rupees as yearly expense. In the first year I had paid rupees 67850 because of extra charges of admission and other expenses. The grand total of the MBBS program from our college was 220850. Being a government college the fees is feasible. There was a monthly fee for food and accommodation which around 3 thousand.
Campus Life
Not much activities are there but yes Kannada rajyotsava, fest, diwali, teachers day, students day, New Year, onam, Dasara were celebrated. There were sports events like- Football events indoor game events.
Admission
The admission was based on your 12th score which had to be minimum 50% and your NEET score. At first I had not scored good in NEET but in the second time I got good marks was admitted in this college and later on all the documentation process has started.
Faculty
Faculty were very good, helpful and had good knowledge about their respective fields. They were more focused on practical learning so that our doubts were cleared. We had full support for our faculties in every nook & corner.
